It is impossible to state what relationship CoT and CoH will have should something be brokered and a new ownership come into play. No part of CoT is built with any assumption of CoH's continued ( and limited amounts of historical ) existence and while I cannot expect that to directly change.

And even then the answer to releasing the IP will still be NI! I don't post much anymore, but from what I see NC is pretty much telling us to piss off in their non verbal way.

Same I am back to having given up at this point; and hey as NCSoft continues to whiff on games maybe in another 10 years it will sell it because it will be like Atari going away

Silly American Earthlings... do not despair. I am quite sure that if they had no intention of selling the IP, the executives at NCSoft would not want to be bothered with the communications from the team. It might have been funny to string them along for a little while, but not this long. I feel like it's a yes simply because we should have had a no by now.

Stay positive, because major disappointment is a good excuse for drunken fistfights that lead to angry sex! Cautious optimism is for pancakes.

NCSOFT has very little incentive to make any deal. Until one of the CoH successor games is close I doubt we will hear much of any news. Once one of the games has an announced launch date, watch how fast a deal gets done.

I don't understand how the two relate to each other. Wouldn't the release of a newer, similar, and technically superior game make it worth less? I must be missing something.

Exactly. What Urd is saying is that they will rush to finish the deal prior to that point in order to extract maximum value from the deal.
Personally, I kind of doubt that there will be any effect from a indy-produced game upon a deal discussed for several years.

See this is where people go wrong :). I stopped coming here for updates a long time ago. Now I just come here for the random and meandering topics discussed by fellow fans of the game.

When news comes out, you won't have to look hard to find it (points at Code walker's stickied thread). And unless you are secretly part of the negotiating team, we have no input on the negotiation, and no real way to positively affect them. So sit back, relax and ramble on about whatever.

Like Hasbro is really out to make me broke... a new Devestator combiner toy that will be almost 2 feet tall. Not to mention four other combiner groups in the next year that I need to buy... not including the G2 repaints...

I see things like this and I have to say - if you had several hundred thousand dollars tied up in a deal - would you keep trying to make the deal if they were saying no?

I guess you think the people involved must be really stupid.

I was wondering if someone could explain why deals in business can take so long, as we're coming up to nearly a year since the discussions started to purchase the IP (I believe it started in August last year) correct me if wrong as not sure on the exact date.

I'm not a business minded person so don't know all the ins & outs of deals, what are the hurdles could companies face in making deals if it can take less or more than a year to complete, just trying to understand more what can happen. Not complaining just trying to understand more ;)

I do believe the deal will complete at some point maybe not this year or next but it will one day!
