This refusal ...

Dammit, Illusionss -- NEVER start a post in this thread with the words "This refusal"!

7 dimensions of vibration? How does one observe that?

You have to squint your eyes in a very particular manner.

This refusal does not necessarily bode ill for the successful sale of CoX. Not at all.

It does bode ill for someone, though [remember, corporations are people nowadays]. Due to my keep-it-nice moratorium, I will say no more. Well, maybe one more thing. You know that old saw about leading the horse to water, but you cannot make him drink?

I prefer the Welcome to Night Vale version. "You can lead a horse to water, and you can lead a horse into the water, and you can swim around with the horse and have fun."

Okay, I've read the last page or so of posts, please forgive my brain not taking in what people have been saying.
But can someone, in simple terms, please, explain to me what's the what? Lol
I'm not educated in business or techs. So it's like reading hyroglyphics to me. :(
Help would be appreciated :)

In simple terms? It's not done. Have patience. You'll know when it is done, either way.

Pretty spot on with the analysis there Jolty. But unless it's f2p, it leaves me out. Was going to hit up Marvel if the download ever finishes.................

Would rather be playing CoH. I got lots of alts to put together. Good part is each one is gonna be better than the last. :)

It's 29.99 with no subscription fee. If you wait for a steam or Amazon sale it can be had for $7.49-14.99. If you play hit me up, I still haven't started a Templar...

I had all The patience in the world until September 2 when the media got hold of the news. Now I come here two or three times a day expecting new news. It's unhealthy! Hence I'm trying other Mmos while I wait

i unsubbed to most of my other MMOs over the last couple of weeks. Logged into The Secret World a few times to try playing a new alt after reading through some guides, but lately i've been replaying Skyrim after installing the Skyrim Redone mod, which has made it much more fun than the first time i played using vanilla Skyrim with just the texture pack and two official expansions.
So far so good. Onward and upward!

Tried the Marvel game, didn't like it.   CO will never darken my computer again with its presence.  I might try DCUO again but I doubt it.

So, how many CoH alts will you make when the game returns?

Jsut remembered a feature that I hope is one day added to all Task and Strikeforces:  the SOLO option.

Click the contact that starts the TF/SF/TRIAL and among the options is one that says "I want to SOLO this"
You then receive a warning dialogue that reminds you of the challenges you'd face and that all mobs/maps will spawn at the minimum Team Size, so if you need at least 6 to start you have mobs set to spawn at size 6, unless you are personally set to 8 of course.

I'll try to keep it down to under 382. :)

Good luck with that. I know you...

I'd say six, to start. A tanker, a fun controller, a fun meleer, a dominator, a supportish corr or troller and a blaster.

After that ( and name camping) I could make dozens.

For kicks lets just say: 42

Among the 42 about every combo of electrical set I find fun and/or useful (for instance, I dont find electrical armor useful on stalkers or scrapers due to the 75 percent cap). Oh, and a peacebringer because I'm a glutton for min/max, mids/induced migranes.

Right now I have 8 planned for me, at least 3 for my wife's account I will also set up, and depending on the cost of accounts I have a few planned for my son too - either on mom's account or his own.

I moved back to DCUO after CO pulled this stunt off; http://co-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=266931

Which eventually even lead to one guy doing this after the nerf heads and vehicle haters rubbed salt in the wound;

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HrZi_Cxb01I&feature=youtu.be

Needless to say, I won't be touching the game for a long while.  And I don't blame the guy who made that video.  He posted the full reason why below.  Needless to say, the CO community had sunk to such lows that was incredibly sickening to me.

http://co-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=292721

So DCUO has my attention.  CO......I honestly seriously fear it will have to shut down sometime sooner or later at this rate with a community so acidic like that.

Edit: Read a GM did sort things out for him eventually, so I am kind of glad for that.  At least the GM's seem to care, although some of the player base clearly does want it shutting down(and no, I'm not one of them).
Currently; Not doing any streaming, found myself with less time available recently.  Still playing starbound periodically, though I am thinking of trying other games.  Don't tell me to play mmohtg's though please :).  Getting back into participating in VO and the successors again to.

Whoops, sorry.

umber

Was speaking about this with the supergroup (we still chat on our website's forums), did I want to re-roll all the old characters or should I start fresh?

Had an idea about not quite a clean slate but a new beginning, in my personal "umber-verse" its 20 years down the road and my new stable of characters would exist in the "MC2" equivalent of my original CoH stable.  In some cases the old characters would still be around (maybe older, maybe un-aging due to their nature), some would be retired and perhaps replaced as legacy heroes, some might see their children taking up the torch.

But I'd also like to re-roll some of those old characters that I was previously hesitant to change, too much institutional inertia that has now been forcefully swept away.  I'd probably reroll my main en/en blaster as an ff/en defender now that I don't have 8 years worth of badges to hang onto, for example.  Only time I ever played Umber was on a team and if she is going to be team support I might as well do it right instead of trying to shoehorn it into a blaster's shoes.

I guess its a big multiverse, I could do both.  Original CoH characters are Umberverse-616, 20 years later is Umberverse-982.

KennonGL

My "main" (ie the first character I got to level 50 and who had darn near everything; badges, etc) was a Martial Arts/Super Reflexes Speedster.

I'll be remaking him right off the bat, but I think I'll be reassigning his powers to be a Kinetic Melee/Super Reflexes Speedster instead.

The Kinetic Melee set fits his entire concept better than M.A. Martial Arts was simply the closest I could get to his concept when I first started playing.  I've even redesigned his costume via Icon and have it ready to go.

I do admit to a bit of mental anguish about it though.  1) he had some costume parts that have been replaced over the years and could no longer be used and 2) I'm a bit torn on changing his powerset.  K.M. fits so much better than M.A., but there's the whole "tradition" to uphold too :)

Eh I'm not surprised that CoH would be left off of the list, as it is not an active IP. All it is right now is an unused asset that could potentially bring them in a relatively small amount of money if they do indeed sell it off. I don't think they're going to shut down Wildstar just yet, I think they will see how a F2P transition works out before making that decision.

I don't know how much truth there is to it, but I had always heard that CoH wasn't shut down because it wasn't profitable enough, but it was shut down because the studio behind it was unable to deliver a new game like they were contractually obligated to. I sometimes wonder if they had the chance to do it over again, if they would have shut the game down, or had some sort of other penalty for the inability of the studio to deliver on contractually obligated goals. Alas there is no time travel, so we will never know for certain.

It is a hard thing for some people to understand why close a profitable game making $10 million a year gross - When you then look at the rest of the companies offerings and see they were making far more than that and CoH was a distant last place.

You had a merger of Nexon a multi-billion dollar company coming along and NCSoft to make their portfolio look better canned CoH and most of their Western titles to prepare for the merger. It truly was a realignment of their business to a mostly Asian market over being spread across the world.

It wasn't personal, it wasn't meant as punishment - it was flatout business. A few people in the first deal caused some hard feelings and that's why that was axed. The company in general just sees it as property. If you can provide a valid use for the property at a price they like - they will talk to you as Nate has demonstrated.

And even just taking the gross I had about 55,000 some subscribers, give or take a few.  This was done by dividing that year gross by 12 and then again by 15.  So we probably had more then 60,000 players I am guessing, which if you compare to say, CO, is a huge difference.  CO probably dreams of such numbers, especially when you consider most mmorpgs generally dream of such a large number of players know?
