I can say Bioware is not the group.

You sure can!  And you can also say that Cryptic, Valve, SpaceX, Shell, and Marlboro aren't the group(s) either. Doesn't mean they're NOT not the group either...

Just pointin' that out, 'cause I'm impish.  :D

And on another note, today is August.  Tomorrow is "August or later."  So by tomorrow, we should have awesome news, right?

I actually liked how stealth could be countered.  Alot of people, I call them "stealth godmoders" tend to think stealth was a be-all-end-all 100% undetectable thing in CoX when it wasn't.  I actually hated just as much how they acted like nothing should ever be able to detect them just because they were pushing a button.  I enjoyed a few stalker builds to don't get me wrong, but I felt it was bad practice to assume anything was perfect.

Snipers didn't actually see through stealth, but they had enough perception that they could see anything but a stalker more or less.  http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Stealth_and_Perception

Turrets also had higher than normal perception, but not quite as high as snipers.

Of course, I suspect there are a lot of stalkers doing the same thing....

Well go figure, though.  I was thinking of things like Ralaruu and rikti drones.  All stealth really did in CoX was reduce the range someone could see you.  It was still slightly counterable, which was the whole point I was making.  I did hate it's implementation in pvp, which was probably why the typical god moder acted like nothing could see him ever no matter what it was(basically the stealth god moder said NOTHING would detect him and they'd typically get mad if you confronted them about it.  Cause they'd often resort to god moding in some other way).
Currently; Not doing any streaming, found myself with less time available recently.  Still playing starbound periodically, though I am thinking of trying other games.  Don't tell me to play mmohtg's though please :).  Getting back into participating in VO and the successors again to.

Isn't it a group that specifically came into existence to buy the game?  That would certainly rule out Bioware et al.

Yep.

Hi everyone, I've been lurking on here since pretty much the beginning of this thread, reading all 400 some odd pages as it goes along, however this is my first post in here.  I was playing CoX from launch day, after watching my brother play in the Beta for a bit, the end of beta Rikti invasion sold me on wanting to get the game.  It took me over a year before I had my first level 50, just because I couldn't stop making new characters, looking for that 'one build' that just felt right.  I made a few good friends a long the way, many of whom I am still in contact with.  If you were on the Pinnacle server doing incarnate trials, you probably did some with me.

A couple months after hitting 50, I met through random chance the wonderful woman that is now my wife.  We lived half a country apart from each other, but when we were doing missions or just hanging out in Atlas Park the distance didn't feel like it existed.  Long story short, we moved in together and had a few kids, who all miss 'the super hero game' sorely.  CoX has basically been a part of our family, more so since it probably would not exist without it. The community was, and still is, amazing. Pretty much the only MMO out there that I did not mind my, at the time, 4 year old playing without me hovering over her shoulder.  She wasn't half bad either, sent those Hellions flying in Atlas like nobody's business, on a character she created herself, on her own account.

My wife and I mainly played Duos, mix and matching any powers and archetypes we felt like any any moment in time.  As many other people have stated, this flexibility is what made CoX so awesome. You could pair almost any 2 characters together, regardless of powers, and do just fine.  We played CoX for the social aspect, almost always in groups or chatting in channels or super groups.

We've bounced around other MMO a lot, only really ending up on WoW and SWtoR for an extended period of time. Neither of us could really get into CO, the combat style was just not our thing.  My 5 year old played WoW a bit, but only while sitting right next to me, with me following her around in-game.

I was there, like many of you, when the servers went down. I'm not ashamed to admit I cried.

Thank you Ironwolf and mystery team.  Since this page first started months ago it has been a small glimmer of hope in my heart, and I am glad to see it still going.  I keep checking this thread every day, several times a day, and each time I see an update of getting closer, I get a little more optimistic.

Thank you.
Steve the Dwarf

P.S.  Pinnbadges will always be my favorite chat channel.  I miss you all dearly.

Same.  Which is weird, because in most online communities, I'm a wallflower.

Just not in CoH.

Without trying to sound sappy, we already got part of our game back, right here on this thread.

The community was one of the things that mad CoH so different from other games. This was a game where it was possible just to hang out in Atlas and just chat and catch up and maybe beat up some bad guys.

The amity and interaction that we had in the game is being mimicked right here on this thread. That, in my view, is why someone like Iron Wolf would put up the hassle of keeping us informed and dealing with facebook fools.

To bring the game back, you have to bring the community back. That is what each of us, whether we post or not, is trying to do.

No doubt. When the game comes back a community site will be the first thing you'll see, other than the announcement. They'll want us excited and spreading the word!

Not me...Mouth of the South here...dammit, idea for a new Sonic right there!

I duo'd exclusively...tried a few times early on to solo, it sucked, I didn't try anymore...suits me well enough, I just don't LIKE soloing. Archery/elec and energy/dark were baaaaad choices to try and solo for a clueless newbie.
