What will you do on day 1 of relaunch, assuming that we get our existing characters back?

To be honest, if we don't get our data back, I'm not too crossed about having to start over.
Just means I get to enjoy the journey again.

If we do get it back, I'm going to log in with Luna.... and just take it all in. Get myself excited. Cue some appropriate music. Like this. Lyrically it works well for the most part. Might have to switch to my Sword/WP Brute barbarian woman for it though. ;)

Really, you have throw out the physics when dealing with objects moving near light speed in the physical universe. The The amount of energy to move mass at the speed of light is infinite because of the way mass acts at near light speed. Time dialtion is no answer as the slow of time is only from the position of the observer, not the traveler.

You can say they do whatever you might like them to do, but don't use Newtonian or Einsteinian physics to underpin it. Science is not pick and choose.

I suppose that if you could formulate a new theory that takes into account observable data that validates relativity and allows squidy based travel I would: Why wast time here? Make me a starship!

Ah, but in their natural state, Kheldians are made of pure energy and have zero mass!

Besides, it's fun to discuss the possibilities. ;)

Except that they wouldn't have... Lived, that is.  Remember, unjoined Kheldians only live 8 years (another stupidhead thing about them.  Whoever thought -that- one up needs some slappage!)

We know from the lore that Khelds come from outside our galaxy (though how far out is unknown). It's  impossible for a lifeform with only an 8 year lifespan to travel the millions of light years between galaxies if its limited to light speed.  Even time dilation effects wouldn't allow it, it's too far.

I will... Load up Ellie, obliterate a few villains, then go roll a new PB to try out a fresh build!

I will do what I did when the game closed: load up Shadowe, find me a mission with some Malta, and go to town. It's been too long since a Sapper got his comeuppance for thinking that I'll ever worry about his Bio-feedback Inducer. After that, I think a nice jaunt through my AE arcs is in order... And at 9pm, I'll be outside the station in Founders Falls.

Sure, but why would they -bother-.. If their own method of star travel took no time for their purposes, what would be the point of doing it quicker?

Consider a Kheldian scientist, interested in exploring the local galaxy, and needing to report back home. To him, he spends an instant travelling to a nearby star system (a mere 12 light years away), spends a few months poking around, then heads back home - again, in an instant to him. He returns home 24 years later, 3 generations (minimum) of kheldians have lived and died since he left. Good way to travel one-way, awful way to make a return trip.

The same Kheldian using the wormhole trick is only gone a few months. Wormholes are the real secret to useful interstellar travel (barring hyperspace or other dimensional shenanigans).

I did a graduate study on wormhole theory many moons ago. Lots of fun, very interesting looking at the implications.

For me..it's level a Warshade up to 50. I plan to do only missions to level so I can soak in storyline as I go and then record lower level gameplay to have it saved forever. I also plan to spend time in Faultline, really miss that place.

I just read here from time to time, and I really do wish that this effort succeeds. My fingers are crossed! I played since 2005, and never quit subscription, even when i took a break. And I always came back. I still miss City of Heroes, badly. And I know that my husband feels alike. We both would play again when it comes back, and gladly so. We both played on Zukunft, and I really would love to get my characters back. And it would be nice to have a german speaking server, but I can live with playing on an english speaking server too. If you all excuse when my english is not too bright. But we would play even if we had to start all over. It would be bad for me, as I used to play supporting characters, mostly Defender and Controller. And i was really bad at leveling up... I always needed lots of help. I was lost without a team. But first, I want to have the Game back!

If I get my old characters back? I'm going to log Palrah on, hit Harvey's demon map and probably get my poor tank killed a few times remembering how all his stuff works... Then I'm going to switch over to Kestrel, grab some random rogue mission and do the same thing with her and Cardinal.

Some time after that, I'll try it with Nemissary. Hopefully by the time I get to him there won't be quite so much death at the hands of my own over-confidence.  ;D

If/WHEN we get the game back the first thing I will do is fire up my Plant/Kin Troller and unleash some fulcrum'ed creepers....yeah baby!!! then I shall work through my 2 accounts and see what the score is regarding all my alts.
If we dont get our chars back then I shall roll a /kin troller,probbly plant/kin but possibly /grav or /energy and slot it for kb then go play golf in perez park with power push :)
So glad everything has calmed down,was stressing me out tbh lol.I am currently off work sick but due back on 7th August,hoping we get some great news that week ;) will make going back to work bearable ....kind of anyway lol.

My suggestion for making a Magnetic Control powerset that would have different functionality from Gravity would be to have a Polarity. Some of your powers would give the target a Positive polarity, others a Negative one. Positive powers would do different things to Negative targets than they would to Positive targets, and same for Negative powers. So you could have two different playstyles, depending on what you tagged your enemies with and what powers you then used on them.

That's obviously just a "top of my head" starting point, but I could see someone running with that to interesting places. :)

If/when we get CoH back, can we expect and similar "return" video with another heartbreaking/uplifting scene?
