I'll admit I had one once, when Dragon Age 2 came out, and ONLY cause they tied in game items and content to some stupid little Facebook app game, but once I got all the stuff for Dragon Age 2 from it, I quickly forgot about the Facebook account all together...now if only I could get through Dragon Age Origins.

Since it only began rumblings after Facebook became noisy, my assumption would be to focus there.

Hell, I saw someone had put up a Youtube video earlier, and that's just asking for trouble.

Well, if that be the case, devil's Advocate, do we know anyone in charge of those Facebook groups who might be willing to help the cause by trimming the posts or something? I can't think of any other control we could do. Speaking for myself mostly, I'm only focused on and posting here. I can't imagine any of us who regularly post here are posting on Facebook on this other than trying to funnel them here.

Which means that it is NCSoft who is upset with all the wild speculations and things getting out of hand (perhaps only on Facebook), which is what I'M responding to in the post you quoted...context.

Can you say that as fact, or is this more speculation that we've all come to know. Is NC looking at this thread.

Again, context, THAT is what I was TRYING to ask him. All we know from what he said is that NCSoft doesn't like the noise, which is why I asked where were NCSoft looking?

 I think what many people might be neglecting is people going to NC Softs own page and bombarding it.. Unfortunately even though I have seen people ask the pages to keep quiet and just hope for the best, the reality is that Facebook is a type of mob mentality,, I have seen Downix try and calm the masses as well as Ironwolf..

My suggestion is this to Ironwolf.. stop giving updates. I wouldnt give them on Facebook.. nor would I give them here until something concrete is established and hope the noise dies out..  I would keep those you trust or have established relationships behind the scences with information.. like Tony V and others.. but thats it..

Edit: I think not.

My view is we should assume they are looking everywhere and do our best to keep the tone under control.  There is no logical downside to being calm, but there is a potential downside to not being so.

My suggestion is this to Ironwolf.. stop giving updates.

Of course a lessening in his update / comment pace could be misread by the larger population and cause them to churn even more. Damage control is not a role I'd relish having. :)

If you note I did point them out expressly. I don't think this site registers on their radar. However a lot of people are linked to NCSoft. It really doesn't help when you are bashing the old boss when trying to get a new boss :)

I also as I said before saw a real difference in what I had been told and what NCSoft did and why. While I don't excuse all they did in the sunsetting - I do understand it. It does us zero good to be angry at them now, let's move ahead!

I used to stop by their page and see what people posted on their front page when the closure happened, but ever since this started I've been avoiding it, I just don't even want to see people bad mouthing them (only way I had to let off steam, watching them still getting hate for it), and just wanted to pretend that everything continued as "normal" while we were in on this...have things on FB really gotten that bad in the meantime?

I did a quick google search - there are two four videos from today the last hour (!!) that have titles saying that the game is working, and the description is a url shortened link for downloading "the game". I do not think it is the game. I flagged the videos.

I knew doing this job would not be easy. You may have noticed not once have I engaged in arguing or getting angry. My job here is really simple - be a cheerleader and spread what news I can - so far it has all been good. I felt from the start only relentless positive action would work. I believed in myself, all of you and finally the folks trying to make the purchase. I am still very confident in all of you and I know this community can rally and show positive actions.

Thank you for understanding that taking things slowly, minimizing risks and concerns and potential trouble spots, is far more advantageous in the long run than blitzing through negotiations. Thank you for not giving up even in the face of adversity, despair, and general pigheaded stupidity. Thank you for continuing the effort to bring us home.

I was extremely sad when CoX went dark.  I played for 8 years.  The other day I happened upon this accidentally and my heart skipped a beat.  It's been two very long years and I would love nothing more than to log in and create a new character (or play an old one if possible).  Thank you for this feeling of hope and excitement!
