The worst thing about CO is how little there really is to do there, and all of your toons have to follow the exact same path....? Or almost....

This is why I want CoH to bring back the origin contacts for level 1 heroes. TEN possible contacts there - instead of everyone doing the exact same Habashy arc over and over again!
I used CIT before they even joined the Titan network! But then I left for a long ol' time, and came back. Now I edit the wiki.

I'm working on sorting the Lore AMAs so that questions are easily found and linked: http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Lore_AMA/Sorted Tell me what you think!

CO never had as many different starting contacts and stories but it used to have two paths you could take in the leveling grind and DOWNGRADED TO ONE.  Yeah, I felt it to.  Facepalm, epic face palm.  Alerts are also ultra repetitive to.
Currently; Not doing any streaming, found myself with less time available recently.  Still playing starbound periodically, though I am thinking of trying other games.  Don't tell me to play mmohtg's though please :).  Getting back into participating in VO and the successors again to.

If only there was an assault rifle energy builder so I don't have to shoot somebody with a pistol to have juice to actually go at them with the rifle. :)

I hope at some point the new owners of CoH consider rebuilding Galaxy and bringing back the old lowbie mission setup. It would be nice if you could have the current design as an optional streamlined path you can select, or you could do the classic ones (and I do not mean via any Ouroborus voodoo).

I just wish CO had options for one gun and one gun only like CoH had

I know you can do that sort-of with freeform but, i was a silver user

As do I! I'll never understand why CoX decided to be more like CO in that regard. It's like Coke's putting out New Coke, which tasted more like Pepsi.

I soon learned to bypass Habashy completely, and street-hunt (or DFB) until I could handle Kings Row.

No, never saw it before , but it was nicely done! Very cool!

Don't suppose you remember that "Iwin" hoax that ran rampant for a while? I'll admit I've kind of had the same feelings about this here.
Yes I do. Caused a small panic with us at Genesi worried that Fleecy or Merlancia had done something nuts again.

10 possible contacts that all send you on the exact same kind of story. really only 5 contacts as the Galaxy City contacts gave you the same mission as the Atlas ones did.

Go to warehouse. Beat up Gang/Council/Zombies. Report Repeat.

Oh also, no resolution. Maybe they planned to write arcs to tie the stuff up, but they didn't.

That said, if people want them back, just add a second contact when you emerge from the tutorial and then you can be off to beat up hellions in a burning building.

Habashy was like Faultline or Crotoa. Yes, it was the same story, but a good one.

I liked it more than CO's kevin poe plot.  No one can take gangsters in purple seriously, sorry CO.

Edit: Wait, did I say gangsters in purple, oh i'm sorry, mafia wannabe's in purple who look like complete wimps that also play on stereotypes.  No one takes that seriously, thanks.

Another Edit: And i should play the curbstomp song sometime when fighting manimals at level 30.  30 damage to a toon with 4000 damage a second at level 30?  When I can two-shot them or even one-shot them?  Um, thats a curbstomp if I ever saw one.

The New Purple Gang is based on a real Detroit gang of bootleggers that operated in the 1920s.

It's actually kind of clever. :D

Yet the lines are as cheesy as it gets and they are only there for you to curbstomp with ease.  Need I mention that rank 1 regeneration can allow you to kill everything with impunity at that point?  How about, later, a robotic t-rex.....

Not posted by me but, yeah, he's easy to curbstomp later.

Really that describes a lot of quest lines. I'd actually really love if the devs of a relaunched CoH held contests to replace the weaker stuff with arcs stolen from AE.

We had our share of those on the CoX forums, as I recall. Not likeable people.

I remember calling for almost every single nerf that the Devs eventually implemented.  Regen tankers?  Nerfed.  Swarms of fire imps?  Nerfed.  ED?  Oh yeah, you better believe a big ole' nerf.

Which only adds evidence to your thesis, I'm not a very likable person.

Karonax

I secretly hope they bring back pre-I13 PvP somehow, I don't understand why Castle pushed that through against the extremely vocal majority who were against it.

To be fair, he was on a level 40 and Mega Terak is what, a level 20 something monster? (He might be level 31. I haven't fought him in a while to be sure.) CO monsters don't scale up like COH's.

Sure, the minions aren't exactly overpowering, but then that was the case in COH. I know that when I played an AT I certainly did die a lot when I started the game.

The Regeneration, Force Field, and Invulnerability passives are pretty powerful. Some might say too powerful, but unless you're a freeform there's are a limited number of characters who have those.

In COH, the base missions at normal setting were designed to be soloable too. (I remember reading a COH Pre-IO forum post from a guy who had forgotten to do his store mission in COH for Level 30 SOs until his SOs were red and he still was able to solo it without any trouble.)

The Lairs in CO are what was designed to be team and/or difficult content. To a lesser degree, the timed alerts were as well.

As for the tongue in cheekIness-- yeah, there's a lot of that in CO, but i'd stack up the Demonflame and Aftershock (and Whiteout to a lesser extent) Adventure Packs against Who Will Die or most of the COH TFs. :D

Obviously, CO isn't for everyone, and I can understand people not liking it. Certainly I think it hasn't lived up to its potential, but I do enjoy it for what it is.

In CO lore, mega terak is supposed to be much more destructive then that, and he's actually 35.  It used to be, a level 35 enemy couldn't be ignored as they did do some damage back in the day.  Mega terak was also a cosmic rank enemy.  Thing is his damage is perhaps the lowest and the odd thing is, 30-35 enemies i know in general do less damage than level 20 enemies, very strange but true.

I wouldn't also stack the adventure packs against anything anymore, there is almost zero reward in them,  Enemies no longer drop q boxes like they did, only one 200q box and only 2000q for the whole thing.  It's very minimal in reward, and I can solo any of those with ease.  Demonflame though can be 100% impossible due to a glitch that just keeps you from advancing that has never been fixed, ever.  TF's also rewarded, the adventure packs just don't anymore.  Why do you think I said so many had left?

Heres the patch notes that was an exit event for a lot lately: http://www.arcgames.com/en/games/champions-online/news/detail/5003213-release-notes:-05/08/14

I know that I have fought him and taken him out solo, but I've also had level appropriate characters get stomped by him. He can do decent damage.

I'm commenting on the Adventure packs in terms of entertainment value for myself. I've done Demonflame four or five times and I've never encountered the glitch you're talking about. Not that it isn't there, but I've not hit it. I like the stories that are told in them. (Serpent Lantern can take a flying leap, though. Resistance needs to be shorter too, but I love the giant robot battle.) :D

Before the Incarnate stuff in COH, Task Forces would give you a badge and an SO for completion plus XP.

And speaking for myself, the thing I do like about CO is that it is a very solo friendly game. It also doesn't have every enemy from 30 up equipped with someone who can stun, sleep, or hold you in pretty much every mob.  ;D

Which game would I want to team in? COH without a doubt. Which game would have more content for both solo and team play? COH again.

But CO does do some things well. It's costume creator is excellent with options COH never could have implemented. I enjoy the Become Devices for amusement (they mostly aren't effective in combat but then neither was the jetboard or magic carpet in COH).  It's certainly not for everyone, but then neither was COH.
