Gold farmers will be gathered up and tied to a chair, and they'll be forced to sit in front of a cardboard cut-out of TonyV looking down at them disappointingly.

Heehehe... poor Gold farmers !

YOU GO GUYS !  (yap, I'm shouting !)
DEBT before DISHONOUR !!

i have a question for ironwolf.

Are the buyers willing to buy for your estimates prices? i read somewhere someone said 8-10 million, so I just want to know if they're set money-wise.

I believe they are all set moneywise - but if you have the ability to help - I will happily forward your details to the team. Send me a message.

I mean buying the game is step one. Then there is the paying to get it up and running.

For what it's worth, as long as we can get the IP/Game/User Data/Whatever into the hands of someone who genuinely wants to bring the game back and continue its legacy, I can't imagine that the community wouldn't rally to the cause to help fund it. If they find themselves falling short after the initial buyout, I don't think it's any secret that we've got a few people among the fanbase who are pretty well-off financially, or even have genuine celebrity status. If one of them isn't willing or able to donate funding, then I believe a kickstarter would still be possible.

I'm not sure what the exact guidelines are, but if it were presented as an effort to re-instate a beloved MMO and establish a team to continue development for it, as well as begin work on an up-to-date sequel game, then I don't see how it would be turned away by kickstarter. And of course, failing that, we could always just hold a good old fashioned donation drive. Kickstarter is a great platform for it, but if the team sets up a webpage with donation details and elaborates on their goals it would achieve the same purpose really.

Anyway, the point is that if funding becomes an issue, this community has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that we're willing to pony up as a team (or should I say a league? heheh) to tell those behind it "Shut up and take my money!"

You beat me to it, Phage.

If the purchasers need any financial help, they just need to ask us!

I started playing goat simulator, and since it runs on the unreal engine, unreal 4 i believe, would the converted CoH maps possibly be available for use in goat sim?

maybe even be set up with all of the knick knacks of the main goat map, you know, pentagrams, goat fighting ring, cars, people etc etc.

If you're asking about my work... Which since I'm the only person I know of working with CoH maps and U.E. I'm assuming is the case.

-quick Wiki search- Goat simulator runs on Unreal Engine 3. Unfortunately, UE3 can't run UE4 maps, and vice versa.

Well, people are making maps in Minecraft, I don't see why not, LOL.  I need to get that game sometime soon.

Edit: As in Goat simulator, I already have minecraft LOL.
Currently; Not doing any streaming, found myself with less time available recently.  Still playing starbound periodically, though I am thinking of trying other games.  Don't tell me to play mmohtg's though please :).  Getting back into participating in VO and the successors again to.

This thread though, slightly derailed it is, it is certainly giving a lot of good news, and it's actually such that it's causing me to not play CO for it.  If everything goes as we hope, i'll be forced to cancel my sub to CO cause the money would plain go to waste(I wouldn't be able to even touch CO, heck it'd be hard for me to play ANY game with CoX coming back in that time frame, it's kind of in my nature to stop playin the games I currently play in general when something I'm excited about is coming up when it comes to gaming).

I already told my SG mates of this, a few who wanted to try CoX but never got to are excited, the ones who played it and wanting to return are excited even.  Yeah, this is a pretty big deal for us.

I noticed quite a few people mistook UE4 for UE3 and vice versa, there are big differences between the two.  The thing to remember with Unreal engine, is that there usually is a middle-ground engine in between each release of the engine.  Unreal Engine one had the Unreal Tournament engine, and also it had numerous modifications made to it before UE2 came out.  UE2 would later have UE 2.5, which was used for Unreal Tournament 2004 and games released after it.  Then came Unreal Engine 3, which also has modifications that were added to it later, including the usual optimizations.

Each new Unreal Engine isn't just a modified version of the last, always remember that.

I think, unfortunately, trying to reserve a name...Is just more likely to cause someone to Troll and take it :(

I was told 97% retention.

95%. But keep in mind that this is in the context of an 8-year old game. Retention rate tends to go up the longer a service runs. If you were still playing by then, you were planning to stick around for the long haul.
