I Need Your Help(One More Time!)

A few years ago I was in a very, very, very dark place. I was living in a dead end location with just a roof over my head, and no internet. I was more than ten miles from the nearest town, and a mile from the nearest -neighbor-. I could not find work. I could not get out. I had no car, no money, no prospects, and no future.

Members of the City community pooled their resources and got me a plane ticket...but a ticket to where? To Seattle, Washington, where I met someone known to the City community as Delinquent Behavior. In addition to being a fantastic human being, she is also the girlfriend of the Cape's DJ Posthaste, and the mother of two other City players, Speed Check and Ren Inferno.

DB and Posty took me into their home. Things didn't quite work out, I couldn't seem to get my life jump started. It caused financial and social strain on the house hold, all the way through until I finally left a year later. Though unhappy with how things went, they maintained at least amicable contact with me while I continued to try to get my life straight.

When I moved to Portland this year, penniless and homeless, DB reached out to me. She and Posty had moved down from Tacoma for personal reasons. They couldn't put me up again, but she made sure I had some friendly faces to talk to. On August 8th of this year, my birthday, I got a surprise in the Starbucks I'd been taking refuge in during daylight hours. Posthaste found me, and took me shopping for a new set of interview clothes for my birthday. He spent...a significant amount of money ensuring I would look my best. This is after he himself had been unsuccessful in job hunting, too. He did this out of his personal savings, which at the time were quite higher. Then, misfortune. Through events I feel uncomfortable outlining, as I do not have permission to share them, most of those savings went away. Instead of moving on with their lives, getting their own place, and enjoying their future, they've been left spinning out. They survive, currently, through the generosity of DB's ex-husband, who has an apartment in his basement they currently reside in. Money is tight. Food is tight. Quarters are tight. I will not speak ill of DB's ex-husband, because he has extended kindness to these fine folk, but they still pay a cost for living there, even if it isn't financial.

The stress of the situation is causing severe emotional damage to them both. These are people who showed me kindness, twice, the second time when I'd surely done nothing to deserve it. Their generosity was once again met with disaster and misfortune. I can't abide this any longer. I can't watch them barely scrape by on less than nothing anymore. Not when it's the holiday season.

I'm posting Posthaste's paypal/email here. I'm asking that if you have anything you can spare, even a couple bucks, please, please, help these kind, generous souls out. They don't deserve this. If you don't have any to spare, some kind words might help, or tips and leads for work here in the Portland area.

This City's community came together, and more than once has proven to be full of amazing, kind hearted, awe-inspiring souls. We are a City of Heroes, and time and again we've come together to help our own. It's time to do it again. I know we can do it, together. Thank you, so very much, just for reading all of this. I really appreciate it.

Sent a little their way.  (Normally not one to advertise such, but wanted to give this a little bump, and let you know that you aren't being ignored.)
