I can end the speculation on the closure
« on: October 04, 2013, 07:14:10 PM »
As they always say in cop shows and murder mysteries, who stood to gain the most from this death?

Other MMOs?  Nah, they knew once we tried them we'd see they are all rubbish in comparison with CoX -- and after several months, we'd be out looking again for something to fill the void.

Then it hit me as I stared at the dark grey screen full of temptations, luring me into dalliance after dalliance, most of which are fulfilling but brief as the flicker of a candle in comparison to the 7 years I spent in Paragon.  7 years during which I rarely spent money on any games other than CoX.  And now, as I see the ever-lengthening list in my Library and think of the money it represents, I consider again, "Who stood to gain the most from the death of CoX?" and the answer hits me:

It was STEAM!!!

This I will testify to as fact.  My steam account is now cluttered with games.

Wait, if Nemesis and Steam are working together...does this mean GlaDOS and Nemesis are in cahoots?

This prospect is terrifying.
