Everything Must Go!
« on: August 22, 2013, 08:45:16 PM »
Premise:

They are dividing up the game world and, as the die-hard few, we get to take what we want as a souvenir.

Rules:

* First come, first served.  Once an item is gone it can not be claimed by someone else.

* Objects only.  You can not take people, this includes sentient robots.  Basically we're talking scenery items.

* Limit: One per customer.  You can only take one object.  Said object can't be comprised of several smaller objects... so no saying "I'll take Atlas Park."

* Doc Aeon has lent us his shrink ray so size is not an issue.

Tell us what you'd take, why and what you'd do with it.

I'll go first.

I'm taking the Atlas Statue.

I will shrink it down and put it in my pocket.  I'm going to smuggle it to New York City, take it to Ellis Island and re-enlarge it so he and Lady Liberty are cuddling close together.

Let them forget the game NOW.

I would take the fire pits on the steps up to City Hall in Atlas.  I would use them to light my back yard (and stand in them to stay warm).  Many times I would log standing the those so they have sentimental value for me.

If'n y'all don't mind, I'd like to take Cap Au Diable home. I loved watching the skies through that silhouette.

M1 statue from Galaxy City.  Patron saint of tankers would look perfect out by the pool.

The Time Portal in Vernon von Grun and Operative Grillo's lab in Grandville will be mine, thanks.

That way I can plot a scheme to return to a time period prior to CoH's closure, and force NCsoft to sell the IP at channelgun-point.  I may not be able to save the game in our timeline, but at least one parallel history will never have to endure CoH's permanent closure.

Screw it, I'm grabbing the pillar of ice and flame out of my SG's base.  Time to mend some things.  8)

I'll take all the Exploration badges. Because I loved to hunt them while listening to my favorite music and enjoying the in-game landscape.

Nemesis' Brass Warpony! (I don't think it's sentient, although you never know when the Canned Ham is involved.)

Other wise, I think I'll hang Mot's Skull on my mantle...

Liberty's pedestal comes with me. I need something to stand on and feel important.

I'll take the big penny behind Blue Steel's spot in the Row. I'll shrink it down so it seats eight people and use it as a gaming table.

(It will probably still have Blue Steel's reflection in it, too. Because even a reflection of Blue Steel can't be defeated.)

By the rules, you cannot take Pocket D.   :P

I want the monkey fight cage, if I can have the monkeys as well.

Otherwise I want one of the portals so i can be a dimensional TRAVELLER.   ;)

Drenched Donuts from Faultline.

Apart from being the location of one of the best badges in the game, it was also the punchline to one of the best machinima made in game.

It was also the center of my favorite zone in the game; the home town of the last character I got to lv 50.

It might be bending the rules a bit, but I'd take one of the AE buildings and share it with other people who'd create more stories.

If that's not allowed, give me a rocket board. Because it's a rocket board!

Noooooo!
If you take Manticore's Mansion, which dumpster will The Unknown Trio raid for new base decor?

I'll take that Atlas statue with globe in front of City Hall.  Sitting on top was the closest I could get to the North Pole in game.
