Hey guys,

I'm trying to find a solution to my problem. I followed the steps of getting CoH costume creator and city runaround on my mac but for some reason the launcher doesn't want to launch. You can see that it is trying, but nothing comes of it. I read that someone else had this issue, but no solution was given.. If anyone knows how to fix this, please let me know!
Thanks :)

This may or may not be why: I can't complete these steps because there are simply no files with this com.ncsoft extension.
Use the finder's Go To Folder command and select ~/Library/Preferences.
Delete com.ncsoft.* (anything beginning with that) and City of Heroes preferences.

Besides this I completed the rest of the steps, maybe this extra info will help

Open Console (located in Applications > Utilities) and THEN launch Icon to see what error message it produces.  You can post the error message here by using copy/paste.

You have a permissions issue.  It tends to come up on Macs with multiple users, especially if not all of them are Administrators.

I believe the command to fix it is run in Terminal (also in Applications > Utilities).

First, type this command, but don't hit Return yet.  Leave a space at the end:

   sudo chmod -R 777

After that, drag your City of Heroes application and drop it into the Terminal window.  You will see the location of it appear after the command, like this:

   sudo chmod -R 777 /Applications/City\ of\ Heroes\ Beta.app

Now you can hit Return.  You'll be asked for your Administrator password.

I'm not 100% sure that works though, since I haven't personally tried it (I haven't had a permissions issue yet) but the theory is sound!
