My biggest regret...

Outside of the "I wish I had played more" saying that we all tell ourselves... I did something downright stupid back in the day. I remember when going rogue came out...I thought..oh nice...something new! I proceeded to log on and within 30 mins I found myself lost in a new map area wondering which ways were right. I grew frustrated and realized I had become attached, downright dependent on the old maps like atlas park and the hollows along with everything else that followed. So dependent that I let the expansion maps rot as I played new toons on the old maps...that is until today.

As I flew around today I was completely taken back by the amount of design and beauty of the maps going rogue implemented and I never took the time to appreciate it when I should have. That is my biggest regret...those map designs are gorgeous.

Well, to be honest, Praetoria wasn't as... developed as it could have been-- by which I mean it probably needed content up to 50 in order for it to have been more populated than it was.  Did Praetoria even have TFs?  I don't remember it having them.

I know someone back on Pinnacle had a Praetorian-only character that he took up to Night Ward, but not beyond.  (I considered First Ward and Night Ward to be a bit more like hazard zones than regular zones because-- missions aside-- they had that feel to them.)

But yeah-- the zones they did do were gorgeous and very well done.  I just think that should have been leveraged better than it was.
Warshades don't take Alphas.  They give Alphas.

On the other hand, I took a Praetorian up to 20th through the original Praetoria content (finishing about two hours before the black dawn), and there was more than enough - I'd say there you'd have the opposite problem, in that if you teamed you'd practically have to turn off XP to have any chance of getting the plot in as well. Sure, then you're back to "same old, same old", but you're coming out into Striga and the new Faultline - there's good stuff blueside.

I think one of my regrets is I finally got to 50 (although, as an altoholic, I'm pleased to say it was around the time I got Battle Hardened) but never did try a Peacebringer/Warshade or one of the special Arachnos types.

Only Incarnates coming in to trash the place.

Moe than one, I can think ofat least three other people besides myself that had Gold-only characters. (Man, I miss Erika Enriche.)

Absolutely.  Praetoria had amazing designs and some really interesting plots and characters.

The Devs were simultaneously expanding the stories for Praetorians and destroying/abandoning the zone in the next Issue.  It was weird.

I had a toon that was Praetorian-only.  I anticipated that eventually they'd develop the storylines, add zones, etc. to take the content to lvl 50, and I wanted to be ready to go!  ;)

As to the OP, I loved Praetoria and also thought the zones were stunningly gorgeous.  The storylines were also excellent, with great story, great dialogue, and fully-developed contact characters.  I thoroughly enjoyed it when it came out and spent many a happy hour there.  But like so many others, I ended up abandoning Praet for Paragon (or others who abandoned it for the RI).  There were few people there, the baddies were more difficult (and while I love a challenge, I wasn't that successful on my usual squishy toon choices and opted for my Praet-only toon to be an MM--she skated through even the worst Praet had to offer in terms of difficult foes).  Sigh.  I miss COH so much.

I think my biggest regret, or at least one that's right up there is similar to yours, I regret that I didn't spend time in the new zones (the other ones, First and Night Ward and New DA).  I didn't complete any of them on any toon, and I wish now I had.  I thought we had all the time in the world . . . .

Brightfires

I also had a "Praetorian Only" character... Song of Autumn, an electrical tank (She was one of my bird-things; the elder and matriarch of the Praetorian flight. Winter Sky's mother, Summer Moon's mother-in-law and Spring Rose's grandmother.) When the game shut down, I left her standing in Imperial City with Kang. She was level 30, had never left for Primal Earth and never would have.

My only real regret is not having time to run (and FRAPs-) the villain side version of the New Praetorians arcs. I did the hero-side versions with Shade in Shadow, but just didn't have the chance to get to the other side. :(

It may be a small consolation, but you can at least read through them here: http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Mr._G_(Primal_Earth)

my biggest regret was backing champions over city of. :( if I had it all over to do I would have backed city of 100 %

Unless you were a melee toon, Praetoria was solo-unfriendly.   I guess I picked mostly characters that were end-game beasts.   Dropping the difficulty wasn't even an option, because that just meant you spent even more time there.  And there wasn't any later content because no one was playing in those zones (there were redname posts about it).

I wish I'd got the combat log plans for any one of my bases.   :(  I think I was closest on Virtue, creeping up on 22 million healed.   If you ever teamed with a horrible Empathy/Plant defender named Akrasia, I apologize for my auto-Heal Aura.   I did try.   You may have seen her in invasion mobs, mothership raids and incarnate trials.  She wore a princess hat most of the time.

I wish I'd gotten to play i24.  Seriously.  I had been thinking about dropping my sub again.   But the stuff that was being talked about for i24 was getting me interested again like I hadn't been for a long, long time.   Even just flying around with Icon I've noticed changes to Bricks and Perez.  :(    The blaster secondary changes, the new powersets.

The link needs the closing parenthesis, which wasn't included in the link.

I'm somewhat glad that I didn't get to play that arc, though.  It and the prereq to unlock it didn't impress me much and I think I favor my own headcanon instead...

Fixed. Apparently the forum software doesn't recognize a closing parenthesis as part of a raw URL unless it's set up as a bounded link.

I did OK on a bots/FF mastermind (difficulty 2? Whatever just includes bosses solo but doesn't up anything else), but I guess you weren't thinking of non-general-availability types.

I also had a Gold-only toon, a demon summoner MM, but it wasn't a conscious decision. It kind of happened organically, as I didn't spend much time over there and just followed the path before me. :)

My only real regret is not finishing some things, like the "Who Will Die?" arc. I felt like I had done so much, until it was too late and threads like this started popping up. Thanks a lot, guys!  :P
I wouldn't use the word "replace," but there's no word for "take over for you and make everything better almost immediately," so we just say "replace."

I wished I would have incarnate maxed out my main.  When the announcement hit, I became too busy leveling all my other toons to 50.  Not a huge issue, since I luv xp so much;)

CC SK TT

I never got my first main to 50 (43, maybe 44 iirc).  She was an Ill/Rad controller and I loved her (especially her costume) but solo she wasn't that much fun and teams tended to hate her pets so I played my other mains instead generally.  I ended up with 3 50s that I would say I am very attached to (tanker, scrapper and defender) and wish my first toon could be in that group as a 50 - would have rounded out things nicely for me.

How odd. I was always happy to team with someone with Phantom Army - as long as you'd tolerate me blapperlocking onto the anchor every now and then. "Oh, that's the anchor. Too bad I just dialled B for Bone Smasher."

maybe, but the way back into honor is when someone admits when they are wrong :)

I had a character I really wanted to get to 50. A blaster. She was level 47 by the end because the last three months i had a hard time playing and by the time I got the drive there were other characters I wanted to spend the last month with. *sighs*
