It does not have the Figure guy that came with it but everything else. The game the Metal Case tin, the art book, that wall hanger thing sealed still, Sound track and the two disks for the game and other stuff too.

I hate the company right now. I might try single player mode but I think since I found this at the Salvation army NONE of my money went to the company in any way so why not?

What do you guys think? Was this a good find? Should I just destroy the thing I bought or play it?

Aggelakis

The code is probably used so you bought some fluff for $4.00. However, you are correct, none of the $4 went to NCsoft.

GW2 is a boring grindfest. Know that going in and you will be fine. Bored, but fine. The scenery is lovely; enjoy it, for that is the main good you will take away from the game.

As far as "single player" well.... unless you know people in-game and can get onto the shard they are on [most are full], you will be"single player" - like it or not. For an MMO, this is the single-playeriest thing you will run across in many a moon.

the code? whats that mean?

Aggelakis

The game account code to create a GW2 account. GW2 is "buy to play for free" so you must buy a retail code before you can play the game. The code you got in there is probably used so you likely didn't get anything that you can use to actually play the game.

wait....so..even though I have the game...its completely useless? I cannot even play it single player? \

WTF?

Aggelakis

Um. There's no such thing as a single player for GW2. It's an MMO.

Diablo 2 is not considered an MMO because it lacks a persistent world.

Its fairly close to one, but not quite. There has been some debate as to what is or isn't an MMO. Hope it works out for you.

LOL. Good luck with that. If it happens, it'll be the first time in the history of MMOs, I think.

Diablo isn't an MMO. They called it single player with multiplayer option. Which is true. It is a single-player game first, and you have the option (OPTION) of playing with friends (or random strangers).

Guild Wars is an MMO. There's no "option" of playing online with friends (or random strangers). It is required.

If you're looking for who to blame, it's the Salvation Army. MMOs aren't supposed to be resold. They aren't even supposed to be sold if the seal is broken. NCSoft's games usually have this in print somewhere on the box, or on a plastic seal around the edge. In fact, I just went into my closet and looked at my original Ultima Online box. That wasn't an NCSoft game obviously, but it was the first popular MMO ever sold in stores. Over fifteen years ago. And the warning is there, too. This is nothing new!

Stores are supposed to know better by now, but I'd cut the Salvation Army some slack. You actually paid a good price for collector's edition goodies, even without game access. Now just buy a regular copy somewhere. And make sure the seal isn't broken! You can get good copies of games from Amazon third party sellers. Find a seller with lots of sales and a high satisfaction rating. Read the description blurbs, and find one that says the seal isn't broken.
