For those of you going (or thinking of going), here's a whole boatload of extra incentive!

Vicky (Mercedes Lackey) has been named the GenCon 2013 Author Guest of Honor!

If you're coming, make sure to give her a warm welcome (and no that doesn't mean lobbing fireballs at her, so leave your blasters and pyronic judgements AT HOME!)

ADDENDUM:

I have an update for people!

GenCon this year is

Wednesday, August 15th
to
Sunday, August 18th.

And our special guest is Victoria Victrix (Mercedes Lackey).

In talking with her, I promised her (and Larry) some good eatin'. Y'know. Starving artists and all.

As for the time, it's a little earlier than in previous years due to some scheduling, as she's a GenCon guest of honor.

As something of a compromise (and because she likes good eats), she's agreed to actually do a M&G evening two days in a row.
Not sure why. But this lady likes us.

So:

Date #1: Friday, August 16th
Time: 4:30PM
Location: Weber Grill

Date #2: Saturday, August 17th
Time: 5PM
Location: Weber Grill

Same here (Adelaide) but I've always wanted to go to a gencon. Be even better to see the Victoria there :0

Hmm I've been pondering whether to make the drive from Chicago for the phoenix project/mwm and the scales were at about 50-50. Thank you for making my decision easier VV

Well sadly as of now I don't have a way there. My friend brought me to the last M&G because he has a nice fuel efficient vehicle. But my big ass tank would drain my bank account just driving to there let alone driving back. Might be able to convince him to go at the last minute.
