That is from Battle Beyond the Stars. A really odd sci fi take on the Seven Samurai. Always stuck with me because George Peppard's character really stuck out as not really fitting in with the rest of the characters

And now my quote.

"It's all very well to have a short name when you're twenty feet tall, but small people need large names to give them weight."

"Your actions give you weight, my friend."

We keep going back to my childhood. So many memories...

This from Krull. And it happens to be one of the better moments in the film.

OK... winding up for the pitch, and it's a nice easy one over the center of the plate...

"Crom, I have never prayed to you before. I have no tongue for it. No one, not even you, will remember if we were good men or bad. Why we fought, or why we died. All that matters is that two stood against many. That's what's important! Valor pleases you, Crom... so grant me one request. Grant me revenge! And if you do not listen, then to HELL with you!"
As long as somebody keeps making up stories for it, the City isn't gone.

Praying to Crom sounds like Conan the Barbarian, but which of the Conan movies (assuming I'm right) I don't know, so I'll guess the first one Conan the Barbarian.
"We must be the change we wish to see in the world." -- Mahatma Gandhi         "In every generation there has to be some fool who will speak the truth as he sees it." -- Boris Pasternak

It is indeed the first, the original, the best.  Conan the Barbarian.
As long as somebody keeps making up stories for it, the City isn't gone.

New one for you guys -

"I just noticed that a fancy pilot like Slick over there doesn't have his picture on your wall. What do you have to do to get your picture up there anyway?"

"You have to die, sweetie."

OOO, that was from a great movie...The Right Stuff.

"Brothers, what we do in life echoes in eternity. "
Listen to the 'mustn'ts'. Listen to the 'don'ts'. Listen to the 'shouldn'ts', the 'impossibles', the 'won'ts'. Listen to the 'you'll never haves', then listen close to me... Anything can happen . Anything can be.

Gladiator  ;D

"And maybe your father shouldn't have given you this afterall, look at the words your ancestors incribed in that ring: honor, valor, sacrifice, duty, commitment, bravery, justice, integrity, brotherhood, self-esteem, low prices, affordable housing, loose fitting pants, cheap internet porn, the rest is in Latin."
"Frank! It's the love boat to Cuba! Shuffle board and pineapples filled with rum. Know what they do? They put little paper umbrellas sticking out the top so that when it rains, it don't thin out the liquor."

That quote is from Superhero Movie.

My turn...not sure if it counts as a movie. TV movie maybe, actually just a pilot. The series was never done :(
Oh well:

"You ate a lion while naked."
"The lion was naked. It seemed polite"

Hmmm...sounds like dialogue from a 50s or 60s show, not a clue!

"Seriously, I'm not even sure that's meat! I think I just saw a tooth in that thing, or a claw, a hoof."

Kinda, it's from the Munsters remake Mockingbird Lane.
I think it's great, so it's kind of a pity NBC didn't pick it up for a whole season.

(I think that was from one of the Superman movies, right?)

My favorite all-time version is Scrooge, starring Alastair Sim. It was made in 1951...here is the complete version for those who have never seen it.

Scrooge (black and white, original...dark and brooding as was intended)

Scrooge (colorized version... I REALLY like this one. It is lush and adds depth, since we see things in color in real life.)

The second one to be precise...my turn :P

"You know, I dated a homosexual once. Actually I dated him for a long time."
"Oh god, please don't tell me you married and had two kids with him."

I like this movie (and quote) a lot...so it's quite possible I brought it before. 8)

The one with Reginald Owen, and the majority of the Lockhart family, including a very young June, was done in the 30's. Plus, there were several silent versions.

Probably WAY too easy - but this is just for fun, after all. :)

"How's the patient, doctor?"

"He's gonna make it."

"He? You came in with a she."

"One little mistake... "

Close, but atually it's the one with Emma Emma Stone.

Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home. Lots of people rank this as the best Trek film, but I always hated that Trek got preachy about social issues. I vastly prefer The Wrath of Khan; terrific Trek without the moral superiority. Just my two cents' worth.

ST 4 does lay it on a bit thick in places. Fortunately "saving the whales" is an extremely easy sell and I don't think they go too far. I enjoyed it at any rate.

And I still remember the end of the film when they did the reveal of the "new" Enterprise. I was in one of the first day runs and I'm sure there were a LOT of Trekkies in there with me, but THE WHOLE DAMN THEATER STOOD UP AND CHEERED!

USS Enterprise
NCC-1701-A

"My friends. We've come home."

(And there must've been at least a dozen damn onion ninjas working through the crowd too. Damnit.)

There's no doubt that ST 4 is a hell of a crowd pleaser.

Still - I do agree that STII The Wrath of Khan is pretty much STILL the perfect Star Trek film.
