Expanding the Icon project... Is it possible?

Just a thought I had this morning after a series of some odd dreams about a super hero, but I woke up today and was wondering; is there any possibility in the future of us figuring out how to add new costume parts to the costume creator, i.e. textures and(eventually) models?

And I do mean "add" new options, not simply "replace" existing ones(which I can do already if I wanted. For example, Damaged Straps which I made for one character of mine as part of a storyline she was involved in: http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb456/Shenku85/Rhea_Silvia_zps0a9a4c3d.jpg).

I think if it ends up that the game doesn't get picked up by a new company(quite a possibility, in all honesty, as much as I hope that's not the case), it would be left to us to fill out the costume creator with new options to keep it from becoming stale...

So with that all in mind, was such a project already under way as part of the private server project(as a way to understand the code as a whole), or does such a project not yet exist and need to be started by someone?

From what I get, the information about costume parts and textures available in the menus is stored in BIN files contained inside the PIGGs. There were some mentions that the reverse engineering project is covering those too, but I have no idea how extensively, nor what exactly they already have.
We were heroes. We were villains. At the end of the world we all fought as one. It's what we did that defines us.
The end occurred pretty much as we predicted: all servers redlining until midnight... and then no servers to go around.

Somewhere beyond time and space, if you look hard you might find a flash of silver trailing crimson: a lone lost Spartan on his way home.

Thanks for the response, I just wasn't sure if it was already being looked into, or if it was considered a separate issue to be tackled later once servers were actually in sight.

I'd be willing to help with figuring some of it out if I knew half as much about programming/engineering as I do art asset creation...

Unfortunately, I wouldn't know where to even begin. Not that I'm not willing to learn, mind you. I've learned some simple C and Python scripting before(as well as some Unreal Script, but that hardly applies here), but not enough to completely understand what I'm doing, let alone make any major changes... Minor stuff, maybe, but nothing big enough to matter...
