When I think about City of Heroes, especially when I think about the rally and the successor projects, this is the song I keep thinking about. (And not just for the name, although it's pretty fitting.)

It's a little belated, but today I'm listening to a couple songs to commemorate the anniversary of Brass Monday.

The first is Brass in Pocket by the Pretenders, and the second is I Don't Like Mondays by The Boomtown Rats. (Those choices seem almost eerily appropriate, seeing how Nemesis is nothing if not a pretender, and... well, Boomtown. Nuff said.)

Although the events of that day were unfortunate, they did eventually lead to the passage of the Citizen Crime Fighting Act, which for the most part was warmly welcomed, as the citizens were ready to start fighting for themselves.

So this next song goes out to those original heroes. Without them none of ours might ever have gotten the chance to pick up the fight: It's My Turn To Fly by The Urge.

I think sometime this weekend me and my Freedom Phalanx buddies are going to pop into Steel Canyon, where the bulk of the battle took place, and do a little dancing in the street.

Just 'cause we can. 8)
