Its the 2 week anniversary of the end of our world.

Hi,

I'm probably what most of you would consider a downer.   I don't post as much as some, and when I do its generally either to propose caution, or worry about things effectively beyond our control.

I was just looking at the calendar, and reading through the treads, and I had a couple of thoughts.

I'm not very impulsive (or eloquent), but I recently lost my best outlet for stress,  and I think there is a lot of tension running through the forum is because of precisely that.   Its only been two weeks, but it sure feels like forever.  I feel like its making us all a little impulsive.   Angry.   Ready to attack, even if it means each other.

I guess what i'm saying is, we're all allies even if we aren't friends.   We all have a common cause.

Lets not fall apart now.

You've got me right there with you.

I don't think we should lock threads, or just say "conversation: done!" but I think that there's been a lot of inwardly focused animosity that might be well suited to keeping your post in mind.

Thanks for putting it in such succinct, yet eloquent language :)

Sounds eloquent and true enough to this old bird.   ;)  So, are we an/the official fan club?

I wouldn't mind a reiteration of ongoing projects aimed to bring back CoH.

At minimum, I think our numbers represent a market developers would write for.  I sure miss having a team of devs around to bug about things.   :D

If the IP sale doesn't work out, I hope Ms. Bianco and the team can give us a true spiritual successor to City of Heroes, perhaps possibly in collaboration with either or both of the Projects Z.  Re: IP sales, it's been only two weeks.  Maybe it is time to pitch to others besides Disney?

I like it. I'm with ya. :)

In fact, I was going to post something to another thread earlier when I saw things getting rough, but this seems like a good place so I'll put it here instead:

Guys. Next time you find yourself getting heated over a conversation, do yourself a favor. Walk away for half an hour. While you're gone, pretend you could visit a publicly available website where you could read all of NCSoft's memos and interoffice communications. And on that website, the conversations looked pretty much like this thread. Would you say to yourself, "Man, those people present a serious threat... they're cool-headed, sensible, and acting as a unified force?"

Or would you be laughing your butt off because you can hear their group breaking apart from halfway across the world, and can plainly see it's just a matter of time before they grind themselves into uselessness without us having to lift a finger?

Please...

i know ive been feeling a little stressed over the last couple months due to the closure, not something ill be able to get over easy

whats helped me is finding other games to help keep me occupied

ive been slowly accruing steam games for the last few years and nows when i can actually use them because im not spending allo my time on coh, it is very boring and depressing to play solo games, but i have a 2nd laptop which i can be on the forums to talk to you guys

Vasarto

I am having an end of the world party at my place and we are also having one at a gamestore a few cities over from mine lol.
If there is anyone from southern oregon maybe you want to attend to one of them?

Perfidus

Wish I lived there, I'd happily attend. Alas, I'm an east coaster, stuck here in Maryland. :P

Hey that's a nice offer, Vasarto.  It's a bit far for me to travel though.  For others of us, we might hold an online party here.  What day and time, so I can set my alarm clock?  I can bring some virtual soda pop and chips.  We can hang out, craft gaming filksongs, and/or invent new CoH party games.  Best of all you get to listen to your own music instead of the Dixieland jazz I'm listening to.   ;)
