I thought this page was somewhat enlightening, or at least interesting. What current and former employees of NCSoft West have to say about working there.

Enlightening. I even forgot about the fact I have a Glassdoor account.

Yeah - I posted that link and a few copy/pastes of the reviews on the main COH forums a little over a month ago.

It's one of the sources for the impression we get that NCSoft is pulling out of the Western market.

I recall seeing this a while ago.  It's interesting for sure.  They're clearly not very popular with their employees.

I almost wonder if NCSoft West is a company that is partially, majority, or wholly owned by NCSoft, or if it's actually just a branch and there is no legal separation. Might be interesting for those who keep positing stock-buying techniques to try to make our voices heard. Of course, NCSoft still owns CoH, so even if NCSoft West were severed from them, it might not do any good for the Save CoH effort.

Some new ones since I looked last, all but one positively venomous (and I strongly suspect the positive one is a ringer...). I fully expect NCSoft to be essentially out of the Western market in a couple of years. I guess I should be taking care of any unfinished business in GW1...

Not surprising.  This is a cultural attitude in Korea.  I work for a Canadian telecom co., we have some interaction with Korean companies whether it be for wireless devices, tablets etc. or network infra.  In any interaction, it was their way or the high way... and they approached us for collaboration!  Pass!  This isn't Asia and your "take it or leave it" approach will be shown the door 90% of the time unless your prospective client is desperate for your services.

More than likely, NCsoft West is a wholly owned subsidiary of NCsoft, incorporated entirely within the US.  That would make NCsoft West answerable to NCsoft back in S. Korea, but subject only to US business laws and tax code, not to S. Korean laws.  (There are other implications that sort of thing also allows for, but since NCsoft isn't working with the DoD, there's no point in going into those.)

Typically, that would also mean that they operate semi-autonomously as a business unit of the corporation, but the actual level of autonomy that NCsoft West is afforded would appear to be "not much."

NCsoft West doesn't actually exist. NC Interactive is the US company, NC Europe is the ... uh ... European company. They refer to the two of them as NCsoft West. Both NC Interactive and NC Europe are owned by NCsoft, the Korean company.

That's a fair point.  So, just apply every thing I said in my last post to NC Interactive.  :)
