Stan Lee or Todd McFarlane
« on: September 10, 2012, 07:38:39 PM »
I don't know if this was discussed or not in a previous forum but has anyone contacted Stan Lee or Todd McFarlane in getting support? I can see Stan Lee doing it as he seems to support comic book companies besides Marvel.

I gotta wonder how many City of Heroes players were not fans of comics until trying the game and once trying it started to read comics?  If that is the case the game has had an impact on Comic Books so that would be a good reason to keep City of Heroes around a bit longer right?

Like I said I don't know if this was asked but if it sorry for starting a new thread on the topic.  But I'd thought I'd throw that out there.

Yes he too would be a good person to ask. He has that one reality show or whatever it was called. I forget now but was the only time I would watch a reality show.

I never read comics before playing CoH. Now I spend way too much money on comics.

Not strictly relevant, I know, but I had to get that off my chest  :P

Also, I don't know who Kevin Smith is *ducks*  :-[

Man behind Clerks, Dogma, Jay & (plays) Silent Bob, also does a lot of re-write work (Daredevil film) and writes some comics too (again a few Marvel ones iirc). Named his daughter Harley Quinn Smith.... :)

Correct.  Season 2's winner (The Defuser) was a City of Heroes player.

By all means please try if you have contact information.  But be aware that they may not be able to do anything because both DC and Marvel have MMORPGs and their contracts might preclude them having anything to do with us.

Same!  I was never a superhero fan before I played Cities now it's pretty much my favorite genre of ANYTHING.

Coincidentally, this ties in nicely with the discussion we were just having about donating subscription fees to charities... :)

this all serves to remind me that CoH came out BEFORE shows that refered to Vampire characters as 'Alts', A cheerleader was required to keep the city intact, etc...
And how I thought about all the 'coincidentalness' of it all. :-p

I had mentioned something similar a while ago, I believe.

City of Heroes pre-empted many of the recent superhero movies. They saw a trend of people loving superheroes before the people (or Hollywood) even did! :)
