Awesome!
Yet, less awesome than I thought. I definitely don't want to start any trouble. I was unware the /data feature fell outside the EULA.
(After a few minutes with Google, I see that there was an incident in which NCsoft apparently went after Vidiot's users around the time of Issue 2. Yet... they only did it once, and they allowed Cryptic to leave the feature in. This all spells confusion for me.)
Speaking anecdotally, it seems the game is smart enough to display an ad instead of user artwork, so long as ads are turned on. I replaced all of the billboards via Splasher, but I still see some Sidekick telephone ads. So "splashing" doesn't interfere with the in-game ad feature, at least.
But yeah, it'd take some design work to do well. The base computer screens would actually be an even cooler place to put the RSS feed, but they rely on a template consisting of an image inset within a larger one.
If you want one more person to help with template planning, please let me know.
