Need Direct X 8?!?!?

I get to log in, but as soon as the game is launched I get an error window that tells me I need direct x 8 or higher...I have 12. I know there is some new math going around, but if 12 is not higher than 8, I'll kiss your...nvm.

Anyone have any idea what's going on here?

Have you ever sorted numbers as if they where strings?
1, 11, 12, 13, etc. , 100, 101, 102, etc, 1... etc., 2, 20, 21 22, ... 8 is way far down there.

I can log into the TitanIcon V1.71, but not paragon chat...upon entering TitanIcon, I can get in game...but no travel powers...when I try ParagonChat, it errors out with the aforementioned directX8 bullshit. someone please help...this is killing me

TitanIcon has no travel powers and is only a costume generator.

Have you tried reinstallng your video drivers?  Sounds like something got corrupted.

See if running PChat in a compatibility mode works (like Win XP SP2 or 7). And be sure it Runs "As Administrator" (check that checkbox).

No luck...same error running as admin and in compatibility mode.
(I also updated my video drivers to the most current...)

Are you running PChat through Tequila?  If so, go get the bootstrap instead: https://www.cohtitan.com/forum/index.php?topic=12479.0

It will automatically update to the most recent version and eliminates the need for Tequila unless you need to replace i24 files for some reason.  If that's not the problem then it will take more computer smart folks than I to help.  Good luck!

Also, more specifics.  What kind of video card are you using? (Obvious you're on Windows 10 with DX12)  And what is the exact message that you're getting and what program is issuing it? (A link to a screenshot would be helpful.)

This isn't common, so knowing what the error is exactly is the best shot.
