Heroes In Other Games
« on: August 11, 2015, 08:40:45 AM »
I like trying to remake COH Heroes within other games

Currently dabbling with Path of Exile and my Templar is basically a fire blaster and my Shadow is a Claws/SR Scrapper.

All of the characters in Skyforge feel superheroic but none feel that close to COH archetypes from my limited experience, though maybe Cryomancer is similar to an Ice Blaster in that he has a little control, just a shame that the kinetic is more of a blaster than controller.

Any other games that allow you to try and relive a bit of COH :D ?

Well it doesn't really have any way to make characters but as for "games that allow you to try and relive a bit of COH :D ?" I'd say the Wonderful 101, its a little more over the top but it really has the same old fashioned, but still sensible super heroic "Heroes save the day!" feel.

As for games that allow you to create characters?...Ehh DC universe kind of, but its really not the same. Aside from that Chroma Squad and Freedom Force are quite good :D

DCUO is the arcade game vs the CoH role-playing game.

You asked, "Any other games that allow you to try and relive a bit of COH?"

Champions is about as close as you can get...

Yes, you can be a superhero, and yes you can design a pretty unique costume. It was Cryptic that wrote it after all, so they stole some of the best features from CoX.

Unfortunately, the content is pretty stale and disjointed, and the money-making model is obtuse. You will probably get sick of playing in about a month, and cringe every time you see "lockbox".

I only still play CO for the costume creator.
MWM better hurry up, I've grown so desperate for my super villain fix that I even started playing DCUO again...
and promptly remade my Staff/Fire Brute, Mephiles 8)
Though naming is a pain in the rear due to the whole one-server business (Mephyles...argh) and of course it needs to be one continuous word.
Don't even get me started on the 'limited' costume part and colour issues.
And I'm stuck on the EU server too -.-

I'm bad and that's good.
I'll never be good and that's not bad.
There's no one I'd rather be than me.

...unless I could be Batman, of course. Everybody wants to be Batman.
