In this case I was just commenting on how being "just a hair away" doesn't necessarily mean "close."

Although, I do have an invisible bot working on an XMPP server on my computer that's configured to allow Paragon Chat to connect to it.  Does that count?

Got to get into Paragon Chat when it was officially opened, and I was very impressed and especially happy to finally see something resembling the game again.  And even more happy that I got a better place to roleplay again than mary sues online(the one starting with C, not D).

So I ran around for a bit in CoH last night and other people were around. It's been a very long while since I've done that. Thanks. Now if/when you get travel powers working (version 1.1 I think I heard someone mention) I'll be simply over the moon. Moving with no sprint is ... slow.

It was incredible to wander back into Paragon for the first time in forever, and see people I recognized immediately. Between Arbiter Fabulous and Champagne, as well as the Blue Bar in Pocket D and Atlas Park, I immediately felt like I was back home.

Just getting a working server online, being able to 'walk' around the city and chat with other 'players' is flat out awesome.

I'd expect quality of life enhancements like travel powers and trains long before any mention of combat.

I'm guessing from what Leandro said in the MMO interview it maybe possible to have PVP towards the tail end of Paragon Chat development.

But I'd have thought that powers, combat NPCs will likely show up in a separate 'stage 3' project (if we count Icon as Stage 1 and Paragon Chat as Stage 2...)

I'm not expecting combat anytime 'soon.'

But in the meantime, we can bask in the glow of getting our community back.

Talk.  Walk.  A working server with CoH chat window.  Loads of zones to hang out in.  Zone tunnels working.  A functional NPC tailor for costumes.  A log-in screen for all your characters!  Emoticons galore.  RPG.  There's half the game right there! :P

Just getting A working server 'back' online is seismic.

Can't wait for the patches to keep coming as they bring travel/trains and in due course, bases back online.  Who knows, we may even get working doors! ;)
