Fire / Fire Brute

Solitaire

Was working on a build yesterday for my Fire / Fire concept build, but couldn't make my mind up regarding whether to go +Rech & +Dam or try and get as high as possible on the Def cap.  :-\

Wondered what others thoughts are on this, he'd be used for teaming mostly and some soloing.

Defense. You will get plenty of +rech bonuses and damage wise...fire is well... quite damaging hehe. I'll post a build later...maybe that will help you out or give you some ideas :)

Thanks for the advise, I did try a Def build and managed to get up to 32%, before having to head out, will look at it further tonight, but look forward to seeing your build  :D

Here is what I came up with...


Has decent recharge. With Build Up and Fiery Embrace should help your damage output. I only got melee defense to 38.7...which isn't bad :)

I like the build Toasty, but there is one minor problem, you can't have Fireball at lvl 44 without picking two of the prior three in the power pool before selecting the fifth  :(

Hmmm wonder why MIDs let me. I'll re-look at it tomorrow morning and see what I can come up with.

So I reworked it... I took out Pyre mastery. this allowed me more slots for your shields which allowed me to put in different sets and get you more defense,
Now you are sitting at 43.2 melee defense. you still have 3 ST attacks, 2 PbAOEs, and your aura for damage. Since this is a "team" build you want to make sure you are alive as much as possible. And even though you lose 1 AOE... you could still easily farm quite well with this toon if you decided to farm.

That's a whole lot of accuracy.  I vaguely remember a Kismet unique (+6% tohit) and 80% total accuracy was enough to cap hitting +4 enemies.

I don't use PVP, Purple, or AT IOs in my builds... Have no clue how available they will be even months into relaunch so I figure it best to work a build without them.


I loathe breath of fire... way too long activation, low damage, and tiny arc.


With my fire brute (It was Elect/Fire/Fire) I used it for teaming and farming which is why I got my melee defense so high...otherwise splat lol.


I rarely used purples unless it was something like my earth/psi/psi dom where I truly wanted a huge amount of recharge. Looking at our builds even with your focus on recharge... your attacks are on average available 1 to 1.4 seconds faster. If accuracy is something you worry about the kismet proc comes in handy if you can spare a slot.


I also like to stealth proc + SS so I can ghost things if need be (Especially when trying to get Hero merits etc... very helpful to be able to go as quickly as possible).


Just some things for you to think about, but ultimately whichever build fits YOUR playstyle is the one that is best for you :)

I would try to go for 34% def in S/L/E/N.  Reason being there is a lot of pure energy, ranged/AoE attacks in incarnate trials.  2 small purples or 1 medium purple will make you incarnate softcap of 59%.  Build below is based off my Spines/FA/Blaze Scrapper, it ported to Brute FM/FA/Pyre quite well.

If you're going to have two leadership powers, you probably should have vengeance too.  I'd replace the two physical perfection powers with that and the jumping AoE.  Makes the build a stronger farmer.

Never done fire before outside of a fire/fire blaster which was made of glass.

But brutes...and fire...fire....BURN...WIPE THEM OUT....ALL OF THEM!

I'd go recharge. Without defense debuff resistance you're going to get cascading defense fail and if you don't have the high recharge to spam heal you're going to need it for the rez too. Incarnate anything will kill defense in seconds, especially with no mitigation in the primary.

fire defense is at 40.7
