What names would you grab for first if we're starting from scratch?

2. Rejolt
3. Joltrabbit

I've been called Jolt in every game I've played since I started off as Rejolt in 2005 in City of Heroes to the other superhero games I've played going by Joltrabbit. When someone talks to me on facebook to catch up it's usually started with "JOLT!"

I have more but the names are random/obscure enough to not to rush to save them. If these names are someone else's main let me know so I won't steal them.

I'm game with limited character space to start. And I'd hope we'd be expected to pay to get in at first to stop folks from spamming us with dummy accounts to hold names!

Now excuse me, I have to find my old IOS app that had a build planner...

I think many of us would rather not divulge our favorite names.  Sadly, there were some people who actively trolled by squatting on names.

Eh, the re-activation of the servers is a long shot. I'm also hoping you have to pay to play and character slots are limited at first.

If someone wants to pay to troll then they're the suckers!

One of the key questions (assuming the deal succeeds) will be "how many servers will be active?"  As players we may need to accept some compromises in naming if the server count is low.  There are a few names I had on one server that another player was using elsewhere, and I don't want to deprive them of a fair chance to have those names.  Either a clearly-stated name reservation scheme or some kind of appended unique identifier would be satisfyingly fair, I think.

 lol ! I would never write that down here, or anywhere else for that matter. I'm certain my char. names from before will still be available. I hope everyone is able to get the names they want for their chars. I pray that day comes.

I'm currently trying a few new ways to come up with names just in case. I used to pick random names off signs while driving to work and try to make a new toon that night.

My current way: Steve Jackson's Appointment with F.E.A.R. on IOS. There's a completely daffy pre-set list of names you can choose for your character that I'd never use (and don't know if they are copyright protected...).

For an example of some of the names: The Fluffy Kitten! Stretchy Jupiter! The Unmodified Caterpillar! Polygonal Gargler!

I have pretty much given up on Toon names.  It got to a point where it was taking forever to come up with a descent name.  So, that said, I'll probable re-do my originals (if available).  After that, I'll use a nomenclature system based on my Toon's server, origin, archetype, Primary & Secondary power sets and 3-digit number assigned to that toon.  This became rather automatic after a while, although, it took a while to get used to the look my toon's name in-game.

One thing I might ask of all the devs, will Underscores, Spaces, Numbers, and mixed Upper/Lower case be allowed in the respective Character Creator, as was in CoHV?

I think I would try to recreate heroes and villains with the names and concepts and powersets that I have here on this piece of paper in my hand. Like many here, I am reluctant to share those names, fearful that I might lose them to someone quicker on the draw than I. *sigh* But if I do, there are permutations that might work just as well. And there's always the possibility of completely different names that more-or-less strike the same chord. Also, I've been thinking of dreaming up entirely new names and concepts for the powersets I'll want to play. I just have to nail down those powersets: some that I had loads of fun with, some that were monster bankrollers for my other characters, and some I want to try that I never did or never gave a fair shake to.

And it's almost irresistably tempting to have a character with the word 'pie' or 'spork' somewhere in their name...

Wow, I think that last one describes how I played my blaster all through Issue 4... only without that awesome animation.

And: I loved taking screen shots of all my toons in the middle of the self destruct animation!

I considered many times making a JOLT COLA toon that would either talk in all caps or be in the faceplant animation.
