I'd like to tell you all a story...

I want to tell you all a little story. It's about a community of online gamers who played a superhero-themed game called, appropriately, City of Heroes. They came from all walks of life; men, women and children, some of them famous in the real world, some who met in that game and became lifetime friends, even spouses. Then one dreaded day, corporate winds changed, and the decision by producer NC Soft was to shutdown City of Heroes on 30 November, 2012.

So what did they do? They rallied like never before, and while they did not succeed in keeping the original servers up, the fight is not yet over. We still don't know how it all ends, because the game might still survive in some form or another, possibly by trading ownership. The moral of this story? Turns out they were all really heroes all along...every single one of them. NEVER have I been so inspired and overwhelmed by the roaring spirit of a virtual community. Keep on Paragon, you have humbled and driven this veteran gamer to tears with your passion for our community.

Someone make the OP a sticky please.  Thank you, Shadowhawke for the eloquence I lack.
