I could technically do this myself, but I wouldn't do so without giving the one who coined the phrase first dibs on it. (I'm looking at you, TonyV ;) ) And if not Tony, if anyone else here would be interested in trying it, please let me know. I need a booming heroic presence, and if I were the one to do it with my voice, this would definitely NOT be Sparta. ;)

I used to DJ for w00t Radio back in the day. I'm still an internet radio DJ, just not for a CoH-related station, so I'd be happy to do a few (in various voices, with various inflections) if you like.

You know, if I get enough submissions for this, maybe I can actually use all of them, which IMO would be equally cool, like it's getting passed on throughout the city in an echoey fashion. So anyone who wants to try it, go right ahead.

I DJd for w00t as well. Don't discount a female voice on this. You ask for "booming" but strength and determination may work.

Further, if you have specific desires about the quality of the voice, some of that can be taken care of with mastering. I know someone who does this professionally, lots of high profile clients, but not sure if he'll be free to take care of us. If you let me know what you have in mind, I can email him and ask if he's free and willing.

And are you now looking for famous voices?

Females, go for it!

Initially - aside from the idea of having multiple calls embedded in the clip (spreading across the city), my main desire for the "lead" voice is that it send a chill up my spine. Not easy to accomplish, I know.

As for celebs, I wouldn't have brought it up at all if someone hadn't mentioned it. But it's not something I want to waste a lot of time on unless there's someone out there we can get sound from rather quickly. BUT... if stars (no pun intended) are properly aligned right now and we CAN get something good, why the heck not? A voice that every geek will instantly recognize is good for any and all Save Paragon multimedia projects, AND it would mean one more name that can join the ranks of celebrities who are supporting us.

If we can get a few people involved (like, say, twenty), could do a montage. One person reads (part of) the line, narrator reads a description of the situation. Then, one person starts part of the tagline and someone else finishes. Lather and rinse, interspersing increasingly numerous voices into the "We are heroes" mantra before culminating in a full chorus. Purely brainstorming here.

And I get compliments on my voice. I could cut some demos if you wanted.

Edited to add: but I tend more toward "raspy" than "booming."

I'll put this out to all our staff over at The Cape Radio. We have 28 DJs right now, so I'm sure that a majority can submit clips for you. What format would you like the files in (mp3?) and where would you like them submitted?

Also, our station manager, Templar, has the voice of a god...so I'll be sure to cajole him into doing this for you. :)

Not only is this a neat idea, I had a similar idea that I wonder if it'd be possible to manage.

The idea I had was a bunch of players submit a short audio clip stating their main character's name, maybe which server they play on or what zone is important to them or their character, followed by our slogan. "We are heroes. This is what we do."

I'd then like someone(me, if no one else wants to do it. I think I can manage this. Maybe.) to take those clips and arrange them in one big file to show solidarity. Put voices to names. Help people realize that there are real people behind these characters, people who love this city and want it to stay.

For example, my clip will be:

"This is Hawthorne Grimm, of Kings Row and St. Martial. We are heroes. This is what we do."

Thoughts? Ideas? New thread?

I've also got some on-air experience from a year spent volunteering for a community radio station while I lived in Dunedin, New Zealand; reaction was very positive, with everyone telling me I have a 'fantastic radio voice'...in fact, while I was still there, I was tapped to cut a promo for an upcoming country music radio show(being FROM Tennessee helped too!)...sadly, the promo never happened due to reasons beyond my control, but if I can be of help, I'll do what I can! :)

Anyone else who wants to submit something, the ftp info is in one of the above posts. However, I must stress, that I'm very close to posting the "third and final draft" and don't want to have the official video released any later than Saturday morning. So if it can't be done in that amount of time, don't drive yourself crazy over it.

Though if you still wish to submit stuff after that, I don't know if there are any other projects going on here that may be able to make use of the material, but I have no definite answer to that.
