.....and perhaps plan a commando raid on their HQ and "creatively acquire"  all digital and hard copies of the game and any legacy hardware that was used to run it.

You might want to kidnap the dev team and knock over a few banks.  Devs to put the game back up and the money from the banks to pay for the data center and networks needed to make it all work.

As to Devs, I suspect it wouldn't take much arm twisting for devs like Synapse, BAB and Positron to lend a hand.

The software is probably too old.  Yeah I'm sure the game client runs even on windows 10, but I thinking more the server side code.  It would likely need some rewriting for all the security holes it has that need closing or the libraries it used got patches that are incompatible with the code.  Programming isn't my strong suit even though I went to college to learn to program computers.  I went into system administration instead.

I'd almost say it would be easier to get a successor that looks like it running than to try and get the actual server code working.
