I've downloaded Island Rum and the Issue 24 files, using BitTorrent to unzip the magnet link found on COHTitan, but when I try to run the application via Island Rum, my computer tries to process, then closes Island Rum and pretends like I didn't try to launch anything.

I'm on a 2015 Macbook Pro with a quad-core so I don't think it's an issue of processing.

You're missing a piece.  Download this first:

http://telstar.eekstudio.com/macclient-wineskin.zip

Then extract it, and use Reset Path to point to the extracted app.  Let it finish downloading all its stuff, and then launch it.

BenFreebandz

Downloading those files now, thanks for the help!

BenFreebandz

Hate to double post, but having another related issue. With the file downloaded I can get to a start up menu, it tells me to locate the Issue 24 files, but when I locate them, I can't click on the folder itself, only subfiles within those folders.

I tried typing in the location manually but I can't do that, either.

Manga

Click ONCE on the folder name, and then click Select at the bottom of the window.

BenFreebandz

I've tried single and double clicking. When single clicking I get "A filename cannot contain any of the following characters / : < > |"

Manga

I haven't seen that one before.  What's the name of the folder the app is in?

I find it in the Z Drive under Applications.

Manga

Z Drive??  Macs don't have drive letters.  Are you sure you're using one?

Also, I just realized CoH Beta Mac.app is an old version.  You'll want to start by downloading the newer client from the link further up the thread.

BenFreebandz

I know, I think the launcher is trying to draw the files using Wine, which I also have installed. I'll try downloading the newer files.

I'm having the same issue! The paragon chat launcher wants to read the mac directory like a windows machine, so there are C: and Z: options.

Picking the folder extracted from the wineskin link doesn't seem to work to locate issue 24, neither does the CoH Beta Mac.app

Help pretty please!

Manga

I'm not sure which "drive" it would be - it's whichever one contains the Program Files folder (it's probably C) with "coh" within it, or the "coh" folder alone.

rowanjon

it has miraculously worked today,

thanks!

Have been trying to launch Paragon Chat for the past couple of hours; keep getting "Unable to establish control connection" alert, followed by "Failed to launch client!"  Is there a mess-up with the system right now, or is the problem on my end?  Have been playing PC for the past couple of months and haven't seen anything like this previously.

Manga

Some people have been reporting network connection issues today; I don't know exactly where the problem is, though.

My Client is not launching, it keeps getting an Error message that says

Error!

Couldn't write process memory: Message 0x%1 not found in file %2.

Then shows a "Ok" button.

The game was running fine yesterday (other then the usual lag and disconnecting), this error came out of no where. I'm really baffled here. How do I fix this?

Manga

Usually a reboot will fix weird errors like that.  Sometimes the Wine core that makes the whole thing run gets stuck and won't quit properly.
