True. And I still stand by my post in saying: If it were Truly off, then...wouldn't he come here and say it? Also, I coulda sworn Irish Girl(don't mean to throw ya under the bus on this one lol) said Nate spearheaded it at first, but then went back to MWM to help with CoT once they got in(kinda like a parent pushing a kid on a bike for abit, then letting the kid peddle for himself). After reading it over, I kinda chuckled abit at the poster..a dubious attempt(or atleast that's what I read it as, no harm meant  :-[) to get the actual team in negotiations, or Nate, to spill the beans on the progress  ;D Well played sir...well played  8)
it is cool :), I thought it was Iron Wolf that said it was Nate after he went public. But I could be wrong though. I agree that Nate di go back to work on his game, which I do not mind, must have something to do while waiting for NC Softs call. Now that you mentioned it, it did seem like he was trying to get some information. hopefully we will be able to fly in Paragon city, maybe in 2017 :)
One day the Phoenix will rise again.

Unless someone has already started an emulator or stolen source code you won't be playing in 2017. It's a fools wish to think otherwise at this point. I can't even begin to express my anger and rage at ncsoft to continue dangling this deal in front of us like a carrot on a stick where as nothing new has been posted in over a year. There is no polite way to say it anymore, this shit isn't right.

I know :(, however, hope springs internal. After playing a bunch of inferior mmos and even one that I left City of. for I can wait.

...Against "androids" (mostly just non-sentient machines) that are a century out of date compared to Lore.  If anything, he'd have better luck using Lore's extremely vulnerable off switch against him, assuming he were aware of it (or accidentally judo-chopped it, I guess).

Kirk's win/loss record against everything else in the universe that isn't a robot is not all that much worse than it is against robots.  I'll put my money on the insanely confident smirk of the guy that beat Gary Mitchell, Khan Noonian Singh, the god Apollo, the Zetarans, a huge energy eating space-amoeba, a less huge blood sucking gravity powered gas cloud and the Romulan dude that was separated from Spock's father at birth.

Well to be honest the info was a-flowin' until some ass decided, "Hey, I'm the head gestapo here and you'll tell me all about the deal or I'll go public." Then NC threw a NDA, which is usually only the case when someone wants to continue doing business, but without the scrying eyes of gaming sites and other outside sources that could whisper into the ears of either side/add complications. I do believe, as my sig says, something's gonna happen this year. People admittedly grow antsy after getting news for a year then hearing nothing substantial for a year, kinda like taking trolls off superadine :D

Kirk was ultimately killed by a falling ladder, as I recall.

Data has an off switch. Lore doesn't.

You sure about that?  From the script for "Brothers":

QuoteLore is seated in the "dentist" chair, as before. He
appears unconscious. Rather than working in his mouth,
Soong is busy inside an open flap on Lore's neck.
Finally, he runs a scanner over the area and carefully
closes the flap. Soong reaches behind Lore and
manipulates the on/off switch hidden in his back. Lore
opens his eyes and looks around.

It was a bridge.

Star Trek irony: after all the episodes that ended with a  shot of the captain on the bridge. A movie ends with a bridge on a captain.

...Wow.

The Kirk of TOS was my childhood hero.  He was brash, and arrogant, but only to a point.  He was compassionate, confident, intelligent, and heroic.  He brawled with a MF'er after that MF'er stabbed him, and proceeded to knock his ass out!  I named my firstborn boy after him, and after all of this...his life ends (after all of the god-like entities, and monsters that tried over the years) because some a-hole drops a bridge on him, and his last words were "Oh my!".  Giant let down!  I would have liked it better if he would have stayed dead after saving Enterprise B like the hero he was.

On a side note, this thread has now reached the milestone of 1,100 pages.  I suppose trying to guess how many more it will be before we receive any official news would be an exercise in futility, but still I try.
What was no more, is now reborn!

Trust me when I say I Completely understand where your coming from on this one. I've been at points during this whole sha-bang where I'm, "Is this damn thing EVER going to happen" coupled with the fear of it's all a ploy, but then I remind myself of all the fallback NC could get again is they Pancake this up again by the team saying they felt strung along.(And of course the fans making a riot :P). But, NC expressed wishes to sell i23 disk image, and the time table's been flowin' pretty good until like I said in earlier posts :/. I'm thinking this is it: the last stage.(Because in the time table it said they were at the last group needing to be convinced to sign before it's No-more-free-weekends time again :P before the NDAs and the generic, "talks" stuff.)
Side note: Hey hey! I got promoted to boss :3

And has been for twenty years now.  I should point out that the mobile guys are also saying your PS4 is the last gasp of a soon to be extinct gaming Tyrannosaurs.  YMMV.  Candy Crush made more money in a year than City of Heroes made in forever, and you can make a game like Candy Crush with a dev team that fits in the back seat of a Honda Civic.

Thing is, there will always be people willing to spend money making games for a platform so long as there are enough people willing to pay for them.  When companies decide to stop making PC games because they think it is not profitable, that means there is more money left on the table for the companies that are willing.  The PC will stop being a viable gaming platform when people stop buying PCs.  But not before.  It can certainly stop being the center of the gaming world, and to be honest it hasn't been for a while now.  But the center of the gaming world aren't things like Xboxes either, its arguably smartphones and tablets.

Eh, I know its gotten so bad I forked over for an Xbox....games that I find enjoyable are there. I find it a sad that what I get on the PC now are old games on gog.com. As for candy crush and other sorts of tablet/phone games, no thanks. I'll let the folks who want to spend on it, click their money away, it keeps people employed. It feels like paying $.10 per game to cheat at solitaire.  :P

A lot of people aren't generally happy with the ending to Generations and in particular how Kirk met his end, and while I also think they could have handled that better, I've come to think that how Kirk dies in Generations is not completely inappropriate to the character.  In the end, nothing really beats Kirk.  Soren doesn't kill Kirk by dropping a bridge on him, Kirk goes out on the bridge to retrieve the remote himself whereupon the bridge collapses under his weight.  Kirk appears to die saving the Enterprise-B, but its almost accidental: a random energy discharge kills him after he's already activated the deflector that releases the Enterprise-B.  Kirk would have died due to bad luck had the Nexus not caught him.  Instead, Kirk dies deliberately risking his life to save a solar system full of people who will never know he did it.  I can live with that.

Still better than the death in episode 7 of you know who...

You know, the death of Obi Wan Kenobi in A New Hope seems weird and cheap until you realize at the end that it was meaningful, and became more meaningful in context over the trilogy.

Just saying.

I agree, but I am sorry. Way back when episode 4 was new he wasn't a that Bad-A character that you know who is.

I see why people are trying to compare it, but the character differences make it different.
When obi wan dies you feel it is for a good reason. I don't get the vibe that makes it ok from the other one. I know I am probably being dumb, but it just doesn't feel the same. It feels too dirty. Obi Wans death didn't make me feel dirty.

Long rant over, but I have never had a movie send me out of the theater with such a gross and upset feeling. It makes me not want to see ep 8.

I never believed that Obiwan Kenobi died from the slash from Darth Vader. Vader himself was puzzled, looking for the body in the robes.
