You can't do the badge before he spawns, if no one is doing Hami raids.  You don't have to actually raid Hamidon to get the badge, but the badge is a lot easier to get if raids are happening, because as I said, its easiest to get in the aftermath of a raid.  I.e. when Hamidon is dead and before the encounter resets.

In the old days you could also get it while phase shifted, but the discussion was about latter-game raid frequency.

I don't understand any of what you said.  There's nothing stopping you from getting the badge if a raid isn't running.

I would on a many of my blueside 50s just go to the hive whenever I was badge hunting, pop into the center of the bowl with no Hami spawned, get the badge and go about getting the rest in that zone(which are a little more difficult to get without SS or some form of stealth  :-\)

Back when people were literally throwing Centrioles away I made a stacked Centriole build for my En/En and with boost range I ended up with so much range that I could literally hit targets from beyond my ability to see them.  I could assist through a spotter and hit targets that couldn't aggro me and would run around in circles confused about where the shots were coming from.  My biggest problem with the build was that when I was solo and shooting from my maximum perception range the enemies would often run away and promptly despawn.

i just remember on the few hami raids i went on that at the end someone would always say for everyone who needed it to grab the badge. i didn't start playing til ish 12 and i wasn't a badger so i was just basing my thinking on those announcements, which could easily have been anachronistic at that point.

I had a storm/rad blast defender. Centrioles were a god-send for cosmic burst running hurricane.

Someone I used to team with frequently on Pinnacle made it a point at times to secure all the other map badges in the zone, then land in the area where Hami would spawn and then activate WALK mode and just walk to the badge.  Sometimes they did this when they were less then 1000xp from dinging level 50 and the xp from the badge would be enough to level them.

My mistake, I was thinking about the pre-I9 Hami, not the revamped Hami.  Obviously the badge became a non-issue with the Issue 9 raid changes.  In my defense I last went looking for Heart of the Hamidon in 2005.

In the days when this was necessary, this method also had a non-universal pre-requisite.  Although I think hard core badge hunting on non-flying alts was somewhat masochistic.

Same, though our family(me dad and brother(mom isn't into games so :P) played until shutdown, and plan to on return start up our first 50s together on vill side, since we played that side the least

Yay for Group Invisibility not dropping when you're mezzed, and boo for Rikti Drones seeing through it and having a small chance to stun on their blasts.

Got it on one toon when we had perma Phase Shift before it was nerfed because of match pvp exploits. Dropped in and dance around in my bubble  :P
