never thought it would end that way, or at 55..

First Gumpei Yokoi, now Satoru Iwata.

A sad day to be a gamer. Gunpei's death brought a decline of quality to Nintendo's systems as well as it's programming assets. Now Iwata has gone. are we due for another decline in industry standard quality?

Iwata was a key component of Nintendo, many people don't know or realize just what he was responsible for. He was Chief Game Developer, he knew games inside and out, he studied public views of gaming no matter how obscure (collected by others, reviewed by him), he compiled this data into company aims, new fads and demands for the game development teams to follow.

The only respectable one left at Nintendo now is Kenji Yamamoto. all the old R1&D2 are in Intelligent Systems (if you were wondering).

then of course there's Miyamoto, Idolized by some and [blank comment] by others. great at making new game series, if I ever had to give him a compliment it's that.

then there's the luigi brothers..... *shudders* newbie faddist filth if I ever smelled it, probably the ones pushing for a jump to cellphone gaming if I smelled their footprints right..

Satoru Iwata? he held that company together. He will be missed, but hopefully not forgotten.

Those are some big shoes to fill. Whose upto the plate?
