STO zone chat is legendarily bad and has been for ages, it has nothing to do with the map revamp.  Unless you're suggesting it somehow got worse, in which case I don't believe you.

Whereas it was once mostly confined to high density places like ESD, because you can now talk across the entire quadrant its now completely taken over the chat in sector space.  A new player exposed to sector space chat could conclude the three main factions in Star Trek Online are the Romulans, Fox News, and a relative of the Q called the *****.

The same that happened to you in Smite kind of happened to me with DCUO, I was playing a controller just entering a new tier and a jerk kept exploding on me over how much energy I was putting out like it was the only thing.  I didn't have level 90 gear, he wanted a controller with level 90 gear.  Well, the mission was only tier 3 or tier 4, not even close to CR level 90 gear.  It put me off severely from the game.
I want a brute in CoH with level 150 IOs..... trolololololol

About the only other game that I have really gone back to and enjoyed since the closing is Command and Conquer: Yuri's Revenge. Something about those rocket troops and the armageddon tanks just makes me smile. That and, you know, wiping the map clean of AI units.

Too bad EA killed westwood, and the wonderful future of C&C renegade sequels and other games, they killed Kane off as a character and base building and I seriously don't know what the F*** they were smoking when they made red alert 3 and it's expansion. When you get down to it the original c&C and the first red alert were simply amazing but everything seems to have gone down hill since westwood closed... Awesome graphics and terrible gameplay.

With the closure of the official c&c forums it looks like they are abandoning c&c completely at this point. However fans and gifted modders have been remaking classics like renegade and the original game with up to date engines. So the community for the games may exist for quite sometime.

Just noticed the sticky for revival news has over 8,000 views!  Lot of interest considering it has not been updated since it was posted.

The amusing part is that extrapolating from level 50 common IOs, a level 150 IO would have a base enhancement strength of +232.4%, and yet with ED a 3-slot damage combination would only be a total of +184.58% (+697.2% pre-ED).  Doubly amusing is that many brutes running high fury might not even notice the damage increase relative to conventional slotting.

One of the things that turned me away from STO was the broadcast chat of trollers looking for "But Seks" and no moderators doing anything about it.
We're almost there!  ;D

The RNG hates me.

It has actually received a minor update, but since the "new" info was the same as the old info with a more recent date, a notification was not sent.

Well NCsoft Q1 statements are released and things do not look that good for Wildstar.  The company seems to have lost a bit in Q1 but Guild Wars 2 and other games have updates coming soon which should bolster the numbers.

Sell the blasted game already, NCSoft!

A conundrum, if NC Soft decides that CoX is catching fire and decides to reactive the IP under them instead of selling it, what would your stands in playing the game be? Will you play it to enjoy the game knowing fully that NC can potentially flip the switch off again or avoid playing the game?

Well to be honest if something is on fire my first though wouldn't be to reactivate it, it would be to throw a towel on it and call the fire department.
But in all seriousness I think most of us have been expecting the whole "Kill Switch" scenario from day one. Personally I am a little worried about the whole debacle, but I'd much rather play again for a bit and suffer another shutdown than simply never get to play again. Also Considering everything that has conspired I think many more people that go back to playing will be focused on immortilizing absolutely everything. The Titan Network is the best wiki I've ever seen and even though incomplete it has enough CoH content, lore, gameplay and otherwise to keep someone reading for decades. If the game ever came back people would be apprehensive true, but a lot of people would just revel in having the game back and ensure everything that they missed before the first shutdown was preserved before the possible second.

NCSoft shafted CoH fans with the shutdown, IF they were to reactivate CoH I sense many fans including myself returning albeit with some serious TRUST ISSUES regarding NCSoft.  They shafted us before and would do so again in a hot minute if the situation called for it.

If I see that happen, I would be more concerned about deciding which anti-psychotic medications have the fewest side effects to treat my schizophrenic break from reality.

I still hope Downix completes the deal so the COH cannot be shut down on a corporate whim again.

I just don't see COH ever being endorsed by NCSoft again.  NCsoft wants their next billion silver bullet dollar game. As much as I value COH like gold, I don't think they share my value.

So.... COH burned off all it's development costs, right?  What would theoretically happen to the Wildstar development costs?  One big bath at some point or slow right offs while kept alive?

Sinistar

For Wildstar I suspect some slow write offs then finally the last big write off and shut down.

There is a rumor that it will go to STEAM as a free game but we'll see.

Sad part is they shutdown COH and it was still profitable. If they where losing money I would get it but they where making a decent profit off the game. I have refused to even try and NCSoft game since they closed COH because who knows even if the game you are playing is making money they may just shut you down. After all that I would still play COH again if NCSoft brought it back because there is nothing else even close to how that gamed played.

I am hoping the sale of COH would go thru very soon. Then we would have the legacy game to play while Atlas Park Revival project works it's magic. Not sure why this is taking so long , it is slightly depressing. Now would be the time with all the focus on Super heroes on TV and movies . Just saw trailers for Supergirl and the Legends of Tomorrow , not to mention Antman , Batman vs Superman.
I for one could not trust NCSoft if they revived the game themselves, oh I would play but only for free.

Abraxus

I would play again if NCSoft hauled it out of mothballs, but I would play like every day could be the last, because in that case, it could very well be!

Would love to be playing again right now too, been needing something to keep my spirits up since being diagnosed with Hodgkins Disease.

It was funny after surgery, biopsy and diagnosis the doctor tells me by asking, "Do you know who Mario Lemieux is?"

Which my immediate reply was, "I have Hodgkins?"

The whole problem with Nexon is more standing in the way right now.  After thats resolved I am hopeful talks continue, and I am guessing they should.  It may just be the talks are slowed significantly right now due to Nexon to.
Currently; Not doing any streaming, found myself with less time available recently.  Still playing starbound periodically, though I am thinking of trying other games.  Don't tell me to play mmohtg's though please :).  Getting back into participating in VO and the successors again to.

So, first video I made.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ev86zd0YWGE  It's not listed in public right now, but at the end, well, you know my feelings on the matter.

I miss the faster gameplay of city of heroes.  Yeah, I felt it was faster.  I think I'll go play marathon right now....
