Indeed. Just like people won't wait forever, either.  If there's no movement soon, more and more people are going to give up hope and move on to other things.

I think some people might have already moved on due to the lack of information or news, or if not there just isn't anything out there that grabs there attention.

Some days I start to lose faith in the return of CoH, other days I believe this is the day something will be mentioned, I think it's just the not knowing anything that gets a lot of people, as would anything that some one loves but can't find out what is wrong or how they can help.

I'll keep checking back on a daily basis, to hopefully find out either Yes or No.

It would be nice if the NDA's could be slightly adjusted to allow a news update but we all know that can't happen.

While some fans may drift away over time and lack of news, there is one sure thing to remember: when COH does return and word gets out on the internet, many if not all of them will come back. The spiritual successors are a long ways away from release, DCUO, Marvel and CO are all pale ghosts compared to CoH.

CoH fans will return if they are able, once the game returns.

I feel the same - however we have already come from the dead to working out a deal with NCSoft. I know it isn't the same as us back in the City - but it is something.

Hey... look at that, the layout of the main courtroom is exactly the same as atlas park, door for door..... gee I wonder why.. and that statue of the judge holding a book of law on his back doesn't match with the collision geometry it's more ball-like. hey look my lawyer can fly, and yours has super speed. gee this game play and stat system seems oddly familiar. I love how my defense attorney has high Comment Aversion and his talk and converse Thick Skin (TS) is 90% and can still dish out tons of jury points with his AoE rebuttal move enhanced with superior book of rebuttals set. the only thing that gets me is all those people logging in saying "W007!! CIty of heroes IS BACK!! I'm in atlas park!!!! OMG it's so awesome!! who wants to do an ITF!" I mean I get the whole ITF comment "Intellectual teleconference Faction" but the whole atlas park and city of heroes thing eludes me.

They've been at it far too long for it to be in an "if" situation. Anyone not waiting is gonna come back one day and see the forum booming and be like "wtf?" and we'll be like "seriously? didn't you know city came back 4 months ago dude, I've got 3 50's already, plus the new content was fun while it lasted, they finished the incarnate system off to omega slots, boy those itrials were fun while they were new, now no one wants to do them, kinda hard to get an alliance together."

that would be awesome, I too am waiting for the announcement that our home is back. I know it will be back (this is my thinking process.) it will just take time. Time for me to go back into shadows :)

Well, I moved on soon after the game shut down, so my hope comes with no opportunity cost.

It's unlikely that Nate will leave us hanging if the deal falls through.

Probably not.  There's a way these things leak over time that have to do with plausible deniability.  If you leak something someone tells you yesterday, they know its you.  If you leak it a month later, they'll be pretty sure its you.  If you leak it six months later they'll think its you but probably won't be able to prove it.  If you leak it a year later, they won't have any idea who it was.  For all they know, its someone on their side that did it.

Also, eventually, its likely someone that was on the periphery of the deal but not beholden to the NDA who doesn't know details but can guess at the generalities will realize the whole thing is dead, and then say so.

And the easiest way to signal that a deal is dead that no NDA can prevent is for one of the principal parties to announce they are going to do something else, and cannot officially make any statement about the previous project.  Everyone knows what that generally means.

Saw on my FB news feed that CoT had  shared an Massively article about the latest CoT update,I clicked it even if was just a run down of what CoT had posted earlier themselves.

But in the comments section Nate seems to mention the COH negations briefly while answering another question.

@Domesticon - I've talked to a few people within NCSoft, and the general consensus is that we've avoided any trouble thanks to our approach (inspiration, not duplication). There is a group negotiating with them for the rights to the IP, but that has been slow going due to the ongoing Nexon drama I've been led to understand


So the Nexon mess has impacted our effort. The team and NCSoft are still moving forward - no doubt the guy in charge of selling it is being ultra careful.
