I think Mystery Men covered the subject of superhero recognition pretty well.  You add a pair of glasses, and there is NO way this person could be recognized, or even associated with his super alter-ego.  It is just impossible! ;-)

best one is in the superman movie when he goes into the photo booth to change...take the film that comes out with him...what about the negative in the booth???

Depending on the person.  If it's some celebrity, a lot of mask.  If it's your everyday joe schmoe, likely not that much.
