dr q was fun to do once every few months or so, the shadow shard was one of the coolest parts of the game.

i could do ITFs and the like on a daily basis

My Dr Q policy was this: get the badge on badge collecting toons then never run it again unless I'm really in need of merits.

Preferred to run ITF ad nauseum for merits.

When the game returns and can be modified, I'd like to see an option for all TF/SF's  where you can select to run it SOLO.  The TF/SF will be set to spawn enemies at the minimum party size needed to start the TF/SF, unless you are set to a higher spawn rate of course.   I always did enjoy sending in certain super powered characters of mine to pummel Romulus.

This was my policy as well.  The members of my SG still tell the story of the one time we ran the Dr. Q TF.  It took us 2 days and about 13 hours of playing time.  We started one Saturday afternoon but were falling asleep by like 2am to 3am, and we were only like 2/3rds done.  We gave up for the night, but didn't quit the TF.  We all came back after lunch the next day and finally finished it.  We all swore we'd never run it again.  A year or two later I was starting to hear stories of how people were able to speed run it in about 2 hours or so; I nearly fell out of my chair in shock.

The Dr Q Trial could be done in a rather reasonable time, if your team knows what the deal is....
It takes a village to raise a child. And it takes a villain to explain the value of lunch money.

Hell, I never managed to get on a team that could successfully complete the Statesman TF... forget Dr Q.

JanessaVR

I don't know how the hell anyone managed to do that.  We weren't dawdling.  We desperately wanted to just finish the damn thing at like 6 hours in, but it just kept going and going and going...

Too bad you weren't on Protector.  Just game with Impyre - I got the MSTF badge for several of my characters running that one with him.

Definitely did it in under 3 hours.

But HOW?!  Did you sacrifice goats to the dark gods of gaming for their favor?  Short of bribing the devs, I have no idea how that could possibly be done.

Well, to explain, I'd have to show you.

Waiting patiently for relaunch...

Every NDA is different. Like Arcana, I've signed NDA's before where I wasn't even allowed to say I was under NDA, or was even in any kind of contact with the company the NDA was with.  Sorry, but you're assumption is just that, an assumption.
Indeed, and that's why I said "largely incorrect" in my post.

Clearly, if there is a clause specifically prohibiting any discussion, as was the case in Arcana's example, but not IW's example, then you're governed by that.

As Arcana mentioned, as well as in my experience, that typically isn't all that common, and while I've been in IT for 30+ years (nearly 1/2 of which was as a consultant), I've seen many, many NDAs, but none of the ones I ever signed had verbiage that said "you cannot mention that you're working on a project for/with our company", although, *all* of them were clear, of course, about revealing project detail, proprietary info, etc.

Anyway, I was merely pointing out that IW's example did not have the prohibition he mentioned, and many of them don't.

Plan ahead, majority of the reason why it takes so long its because of the traveling. When I did it we had 1 runner for each mission so basically we are fighting as a team of 7 till the last mission. The runner will be waiting at the area of the next mission and when we get done, that person will TP everyone to the next mission.

Aggelakis

For the first few missions, leader sits at the contact to accept new missions until they get a phone. Everyone has mission and/or team transport (and recall friend/assemble the team are also helpful). Kill only things that need to be killed (not all the missions are defeat all). Quick, quick, quick.

I really just want to get the Brass Reactor Project (my base) going again.

JanessaVR

Ok, I'm saving a copy this page.  If and when we get the game back, I'm going to want this cheat sheet on hand.

Like I said, better something than nothing.  If you really don't want a comic series, make your voice heard for more substantive updates than lore fluff, because right now the game story seems to be their main focus.

The writing of content like missions and TFs/SFs often does look like story writing.  What I would be bumbed about is if all that was produced was a printed page of comics.  I don't want to read static dialog and look at pics of toons fighting.  I want to be the hero/bad mouse in the middle of the fight.  One day, we'll be able to make npcs that reach to free flow, unpredictable replies from us biologics.  On that day, I will rejoice.  Until then, I still want to be the one driving the story.  Not looking at some comic writer's work who decided dr. bad guy gets a punch in he face from mr. good guy.  I'd rather shoot dr. bad guy in the face with a 30mm grenade from my multifunction assault rifle with a round house kick to the head to boot. (pun intended)

But are you really "driving the story" when "punch in the face" and "grenade + boot to the head" both result in the same dialog and advancement upon mission completion?
I used CIT before they even joined the Titan network! But then I left for a long ol' time, and came back. Now I edit the wiki.

I'm working on sorting the Lore AMAs so that questions are easily found and linked: http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Lore_AMA/Sorted Tell me what you think!

I think its more of "freedom within a perimeter" to drive a story. Like when I go to the range, the end game is to hit a target 600 yards down range. Now the way I can proceed to hit that target with a Remmi, AR or a pistol is determined by me (like you can choose to be DPS, Tank, Support or some hybrid build). Also the X factors like wind, temperature, and type of bullets I use will cause for some excitement and uncertainty even though I'm doing the same function over and over again (in the the X factor although more predictable can be a certain type of ambush, someone on the team dying, etc)
