That would probably have been the proverbial straw that would have made me finally level a MM to 50.  Doesn't matter the game, I generally tend to dislike pet classes, but to have the pets be actual villain groups from the gameworld itself?  Yes, please!

Yeah, I was kinda bummed they never made pet customizations. I also wanted a "hero" MM set like longbow, which I think they could have done real well. Shame we will have to wait till APR makes it (hint hint wink wink).

To the best of my knowledge, while there are many knowledgeable CO players out there, I don't think CO has had its Dr Rock, or its TopDoc, or its Stupid_Fanboy, or its Codewalker, or its Arcanaville.

Well, maybe in CoX 1.5 there will be more customizers for pets.  That'll be something I'm eager for as well. 

I so much miss my MasterMinds.  lol.  The CO pet scheme just isn't quite the same and doesn't fulfill my addiction.

So when the deal is closed, part of me just really wants nobody to even talk about it ever, and we only find out when they re-release CoH in it's image-form.

My personal opinion (I know nothing from any real sources) is that you might be a little closer than you think.

If I were working on this deal from the NCSoft side, I would make sure that if the deal went through, the company I was selling to would be able to get the game up and running. It would go way beyond a "proof of competency". I would make sure it was mostly operational before allowing the announcement to be made.
Something along the lines of "we have an agreement contingent to your company getting the server up and running and no announcements until it is at x stage."

It would be crazy to have any announcement of that portion of the sale made and to not be able to get things up and running.
NCSoft already took a bit of a black eye in how the game closed and they would be given much of the blame if they sold to a company that couldn't get things working. Even if they were not involved directly.

I'm only talking about the I23 version of the game getting to a running state and not the Intellectual Property rights. That's something completely different in my mind.

Quite possibly the biggest troll on the field. Beast mode activates and just running down the field like no one is there. Oh that Fake Field Goal was pretty good troll :P

Its very empty on content. Flight model and graphics, sound is very good. But it is a very repetetive grind at the moment. And there are too many broken things.

I can say that if you want to be a bounty hunter, the only option is to hunt NPC, the bounty board for real players(PVP) is not updated since 22dec. And the way the game works with instances it is neary impossible to find real players with bounty hunting.

Otherwise there is mining, trading and pirating. When you spent 5 hours to upgrade to a Viper ship you can solo with very ease the most hardest npc opponent and mission. So there is no challenge if you not decide to gimp yourself.

Balance is very off also, since only way to make serious money is trading. If you like serious grinding, trading back and forth stations waiting for different game sequences then its the game for you :)

From a marketing perspective you want to do the opposite.  You want to get your message out as soon as possible and repeat it as often as possible.  That way your message will reach the most people and better odds of people remembering it.  If people just announce the deal right before they are going live they shouldn't expect many players.  Every business knows that if you announce the grand opening just before, it will be a lousy grand opening.

Y'know, reading about Freaks worshiping the Leviathan makes total sense. They're a bunch of guys looking for more meaning in their lives than what white-collar work brought them. So they turn to anarchy, body modification, etc. But when some of them find a true power worthy of worship.... well now that is interesting.
