I want the facts and not the hype of a global warming/cooling chicken little panic.

We live near a variable star. It waxes and wanes and while man may have some affect on our climate - we have only been industrialized for 200 years. Climate is measured in 100's of thousands of years and what I am showing is everything about the warming and cooling is within the natural variation the sun has already shown.

I know not everyone is a space geek - but I love the stars and how the galaxy works. Now if you want to argue pollution - I am right with you on that. I don't however see anything we have done in 200 years to override the thousands of years of normal cycles in heating and cooling.

Alex, you don't realize the deep ocean theory was debunked.

It was found out to be completely not factual once they checked the data. Your citation was Jan 2014:
http://www.nasa.gov/press/2014/october/nasa-study-finds-earth-s-ocean-abyss-has-not-warmed/

NASA in October found no heat was hidden in the Oceans. Sorry, I am a space geek and live on the NASA and Spaceweather.com sites.

I love to discuss factual data and if you look at how I think when I was trying to get the game back - i completely disengaged my emotions from it. I looked at it as a problem and worked to get the facts. That is how I work - I do get emotional as the next person - but when I am working a problem because I work with computers all the time that don't care if I am angry or not. I do try and work things out logically and use Occam's razor as my guide.

If the facts change - I am more than happy to change with them as in science nothing is ever proved for good.

I am thinking we wont be running any itfs this weekend. them there negotiators can give me an early birthday present any time now. or we will have to send in the spanish inquisition. and nobody expects the spanish inquisition.

I would love to run an ITF!

I think they had that TF as the most fun one ever. Followed closely by a speed Synapse - I really liked the final half of the Synapse!

And a point we've made about the deniers is proven again in that you guys only see what you want to see, exclusively regarding the first part.  The evidence though is in the fact that those last 200 years have seen a much larger increase than in recorded history :/.  Likewise the sun isn't going to be able to bake our planet for another 70-100 thousand years yet, so you cannot say the sun is the long-term cause of warming either.

Your at this point only seeing what you want to see(with regards to that topic), due to the sticky theory effect; https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20120322083120AA85j8I .  Even with evidence in front of you to disprove your side of the arguement your never going to let that go, in fact your belief may even just be reinforced.  It's a purely psychological effect, but it's certainly one I notice in effect with a lot of people :/.

I just mentioned why your article was debunked, as it's measuring the wrong thing(Sea Ice).  But go figure.  You clearly want evidence but your unwilling to believe it :/.  Anyhow not going to argue anymore since clearly you only want to believe what you want to believe and this isn't wholly the place for it.

Hehe, so true.  Know there are ways to clean the smoke being released from power plants :), they just cost money and some power plant companies are just, lazy enough they don't want to ever implement it.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scrubber

Currently; Not doing any streaming, found myself with less time available recently.  Still playing starbound periodically, though I am thinking of trying other games.  Don't tell me to play mmohtg's though please :).  Getting back into participating in VO and the successors again to.

Yeah, those NASA 'scientists', where'd they get their degrees anyway?

Out of a CrackerJack box?

My favorite TF was probably the ITF to, simply because it threw so many enemies at you.  But my other favorite TF was probably the Lord Recluse Strike force.  Fighting malta and then later the freedom phalanxe all at once was just especially awesome.  As for my least favorite tf, that would probably be the manticore tf, partly because everyone skips everything in it.  I prefer to steam roll the mobs, not skip past them with stealth/teleport.  Any TF where people spent a majority of it avoiding everything was a TF I didn't enjoy, it was more due to teams though.

Especially when I was playing a powerset designed for steam-roller teams, like time manipulation.

I will stop now - I have presented facts and you call me names.

You have no answer for the "hidden heat" - I do its called solar variability a natural phenomenom.

Let's talk about the TF's you like.

Power Gamer

Will someone please turn off the sun for a 100 years so we can eliminate it as a factor?

Thank you.

With regards to that topic and the deep ocean, your looking at a place where no sunlight gets to in the first place.  So it's more likely to cool down there, unless the water is hitting the various thermal vents/underwater volcanos.  The sea level still rises because surface ice, specifically land ice, is, well, melting :/.  We are looking at the surface.  If we looked at the far depths anyways you'd be getting heat from the earths core, which will remain hot until the magma stops flowing, which it will eventually, but thats not really related to the topic.

Sunlight does make a big difference, just that while more is being trapped on the surface, naturally, it cannot get that far down there.  So liquid down there is warmed by, well, the earth itself :/.

The deep oceans are a different animal entirely.

http://www.skepticalscience.com/role-of-deep-ocean-in-global-warming-contrarians-wrong.html

Dug this up to.  A little more recent, actually this topic is getting to be intriguing, taking back the sticky theory comment.

Didn't really call you any name, just mentioned a psychological effect :/.

Edit: And I apologize if ya took it that way.  I'm a realist, so I tend to look at things like that and I tend to be truthful of things which I am aware will annoy some people.

One of my favorites was the Khan TF, even though the Star Trek jokes it inspired wore a bit thin.

LGTF was fun for the most part, though mission 4 against the weak Hamidon was problematic at times. Nothing that couldn't be overcome unless the team completely went to pieces, but for Master badge runs that mission was the one most likely to wreck the Master of attempt.    Too bad they fixed it so that teleport foe and wormhole would no longer warp the Mitos out of the Hami goo.

ITF was also fun and one of the best to solo.

When the game does finally return they need to add at some point an option in all start windows for all the TF/SF's to solo it so that players don't have to spend time asking people to pad the team so that you can start.   Just include a warning that the TF/SF will be set to spawn mobs at the minimum team size required to launch it in the first place.

Not a bad idea.  I think it'd be interesting, though I wouldn't want to attempt to solo the lord recluse or Ms. Liberty(er, statesman) tf.  I think though ,with some recent experiences with DCUO, that a warning should be made that you cannot invite new people when you kick someone.  Was playing DCUO yesterday and some jerk kicked me and some other person for no reason, nothing said or anything, aggravated me(and left me in a tantrum-like mood when the next team I had was hopelessly bad and unable to follow any instructions even the game gave).  And so I read online that DCUO has no anti-excesssive kicker policy, which alongside being able to invite a replacement, really annoyed me.  Cause a player could kick you even if you were doing well.

I realised one thing I liked about CoX, you had to be really careful about kicking people from a team, which meant inviting people you like in the first place rather than just inviting that rude person cause of his role.

So it's a good thing TF's are locked and no one can be invited after someone is kicked/leaves, and that they are reasonably short.

One thing that needs to be changed back to what it was originally was this: the voting of someone out of a league when you are running an Incarnate Trial.  It used to be that the League star holder could kick anyone at anytime.  Now granted that can lead to some abuse of power, but some people would just not care about the voting and vote no to keep someone in the league that was being disruptive.  I ended up seeing that people who should have been voted out that end up staying being assigned to a solo team for the rest of the trial if they didn't shape up their behavior.

Also the system needed a tune up so that whoever had the league star before everyone zones in retains the the league star after they enter the trial instead of having to ask repeatedly for the star back.
