TonyV confirmed there would be an announcement, just not what it would be.

Tony said that his source confirmed they might have some more information on the first and were considering making an announcement. Not that it was a sure thing, or that they would even have anything to announce.

Tony went on to explain that's why he hadn't said anything about it, because there were way too many 'maybes' involved, and because he hadn't been given the all-clear to talk about it.

I am curios if anyone knows what the "Top Secret" project that Cryptic Studios is working on? If you go here: http://crypticstudios.com/in_development it says they are working on a secret project. I'm not suggesting that Cryptic has anything to do with buying COH, but curiosity got the better of me. Anyone know what it is?

That's been on their site for a few years, so it's likely not anything to do with CoH.

So yeah, the big news tidbit of the day is that the Hail Mary team is planning on making an announcement this Monday, September 1.

That's what he said. So, the word "planning" is key in that they may, or may not make an announcement.

I just went to Cryptic's CoH page, looks like it could use an update: "Cryptic Studios' first title was also the first AAA MMO on the market. City of Heroes still operates today and is published by NCsoft, with development duties handled by Paragon."

Since Cryptic was taken over by Perfect World, I honestly don't think they update their own web site much any more.

I suspect that nothing is going to be announced today, and that whatever talks are ongoing will continue to do so in silence.

I hope this is exactly what happens, and that we don't get updated until CoH gets sold, if it ever does.  And otherwise, we don't need any information at all.  All that THeM revealing their identities is going to do is add 2304987 layers of whining, criticism and demands to their already overwhelming workload in trying to prove to NCSoft (and themselves) that they can do this.  Let them rest in peace and do their thing.  If CoH ever gets sold, they can pull the curtain then and direct us where to send our money in one fell swoop.   ;)

I've been the recipient of all kinds of accusations and threats via forums, e-mail, telephone and RL.  I had one whack job phone me from Florida.

She: "Oh, [name redacted] I'm so glad you're in my circle!"  Goes on to ramble about ghosts, UFOs, angels, etc.

Me: "I think you have the wrong [name redacted].  I get calls about UFOs for him from time to time."

She: "Well, can you put me in touch with him?"

Me: "No.  I don't have his number and I'm not 411."  Hang up.

This started a series of phone calls on various days badgering me to put her in touch with him.  I finally block her number and she starts calling from a friend's house.  I call them and leave them a message saying shes misusing their phone to harass me and block that number too.  She calls from a third phone and I block every listed area code in Florida.

Then the snail mail started coming.  Envelopes with "protected by angels" written on the outside.  I collect them and and put them in a big envelope marked "evidence" and make sure my sister knows where its kept.  Just in case I get a live visit from a whack job with a gun.

So, yes.  I know exactly what that's like and some people ARE that crazy.

Sounds like time to contact the local FBI office with your envelope of evidence. Not that they will actually DO anything, but this person needs to be on law enforcement's radar. I bet you are not the only person she's harassing.

I have kept quiet for some time...But Enough...is Enough. TonyV and Robert Both have the same Desire. To see the game brought back. This much is Clear. For TonyV to stir the pot and cause problems for Robert is Childish, and down right Petty. For those of you who may Bash Robert, Threaten, Name call, or whatever, Your just as childish, and you should be ashamed of yourself.

In the Major scheme of things, ALL of us here have the same Exact wish...To run the streets in Atlas Park...So why act like 3rd world country thugs? Robert had the best intentions...And was trying to give everyone something to look forward to. He and TonyV BOTH know the Hail Mary team...And i am sensing Tony ...for whatever reason, wants to prove some sort of point, and try to get the announcement cancelled...Stop acting like the Thugs we defeated in AP...Grow up...If your 15 and under, and lack self control, or the ability to censor your words, Dont say anything at all. This isnt for drama...Its for Unity...

I for one, and 110% Behind Robert, and the goal of Hail Mary.

TonyV is the reason this Robert is having problems....? Did you read what you just wrote!?? Robert's having problems because he has.... not a whole lot of impulse control, not because of anyone here.
