Speaking in general: As a matter of fact, I am now angry about this Robert person - whoever he might be - saying he's logging on to FB or wherever Monday, and if there isn't an official announcement, he'll be the one to make one?! What gives him the right?!

How dare he try to steal the new buyer's thunder like that?! Unless he is one of them, which I doubt! They have a right to make that announcement themselves, or to pick a mouthpiece who will do it for them. Its not this Robert person's business to do so, unless I'm really missing something here?

We all want this game back. Some people need to go sit down somewhere and hush until notified otherwise. This Robert person could lead the charge to the chairs, I am almost wondering if he's actually trolling the CoX community. "Pssst, watch how fast I can get them wound up!! heehee" .....yeah, NO. A dangerous game to play.

I'm with you.  I hope this Robert keeps quiet now and crawls under his desk on Monday and stays there, keyboard NOT in hand.  It's incredibly nervy to drop threats like that, backing the Hail Mary Team into the corner and potentially blowing the deal.  After all, it isn't NCSoft standing on the street corners trying to peddle CoH.  The Hail Mary Team approached them, and NC has the right to ask for silence.  I hope the team ignores Robert, stops feeding the overexcited trolls and info leakers, and does what it's doing best:  Impressing NCSoft and taking on the Herculean task of running CoH, as well as making CoH2.  Whoever they are, I'm impressed with their dedication and hard work, and even if this deal fails like all the others, we're no worse off.

People need to relax.. I believe Robert heard some tidbits of info.. got overzealous and probably went too far. He took the entire announcement and subsequent posts down.. Lets wait and see what happens on Monday..

Have you seen him lately?  Unless you're holding a platter of Big Macs or something, you're probably safe.  And even then, I think you can outrun him.  :)

Yeah, The guy is a joke now.

But i'm still a little curious what exactly Fanta was implying there.

Moving on.

Slightly off topic After working at a Mcdonalds this summer I can safely say that i will never eat a big mac again...unless it's free and I see it just finish cooking.

Taceus Jiwede

He probably just got caught up in the moment.  I hope he doesn't release the buyers information without their permission.  I hope someone who wants the game back wouldn't do something that harmful to their own cause.

I agree with Tony's other post about people getting their hopes up too much.  I have seen a decent amount of talk like the game is back already.  It isn't back until its back

I was thinking Russell Crowe or Gerard Butler could pull off States

Ok, once CoH the Game is back, we can start agitating for the CoH movie.

You're ignoring that once the game is back we can make our own found footage movie using captured footage! We need to plan voices nooooow.

I can't think of anything clever to place here as I am currently over-caffeinated on very little sleep. All the cool people have a signature, so I will drop random text here trying to fit in.

No, tom cruise couldn't do anything.  He's just to nutty man.  I could see christian bale(he does tend to be serious), but not tom cruise.
Currently; Not doing any streaming, found myself with less time available recently.  Still playing starbound periodically, though I am thinking of trying other games.  Don't tell me to play mmohtg's though please :).  Getting back into participating in VO and the successors again to.

Have you read any news clips about Christian Bale on set? The guy's Mel Gibson-quality batfruit. I heard he once had a dry cleaner slathered in honey and fed to mongooses (mongeese?) because one of his shirts was wrinkled. Mongeese?

CoH would end up full of giant ants dancing in top hats smoking clove cigarettes and reciting Mark Twain.

When, and if it's announced. I'd say the first thing Team Mysterion needs to do, is get a community manager so all this can be avoided. They should be using one person, and only one person to release information to everyone, via TN or FB. Ironwolf makes more money than a manager, and has too many other things going on, so he's out. Hopefully since we've come this far, they're prepared. We'll see.

normally I would be with you on this, however Robert shoved his foot in his mouth the second he typed that if the team did not make announcement Monday he will, imho I tried to tell him not to because it could add undue stress to the team. and what I got was modded and my post deleted. My point is I understand someone getting excited by the potential of our going home looms closer, it is another thing to try and put ones self in the action. Could the team have said sure go ahead with Monday. Than the issue becomes how did Wolf not hear about this.
I think Robert did not really mean to do harm, but like a dog with a bone, he ran with it and shot off his mouth when it was not needed.
One day the Phoenix will rise again.

Until I hear from Ironwolf that it's legit, I'm not going to believe anything anyone else posts. He's the only one that has total credibility in this instance.

This.
As for Robert, he was one of the people shouting "hoax" all the time, basically dissing both Ironwolf and Tony on the way. Even when people argued that Titan had tons more to lose than to gain by participating in such a hoax. And seemingly pestered IronWolf until he yielded information, then went on to pester the devs to be about the project status until he got something, and then went out and shouted it everywhere like he was the second coming.

I'm generally laid back about stuff, but in the case, my friendliest reaction was comparing him to Igor, from Dork Tower.

Robert knew more than a lot of folks here understand and please no personal attacks. He was about 95% sure before he asked me. Robert and I have spoken before about other things and he has never been anything but kind even when people were calling for my head.

Honestly, I stay away from Steam because it confuses me. I had "signed up" once, and then it asked me for friends. I realize that many of you are close to, or perhaps older than me, but I know with 100% certainty that my married friends did not and would not be playing a video game in their free time. They've got wives, kids, yards and stuff. I've got a yard and stuff, but I pay someone to take care of the yard cuz it's just too darned hot out in Alabama during the Summer to suit me. Since I don't have a wife or kids at home, I can afford to do this. Some of them can, but don't.

The other reason is because sometimes, I want to play solo. In fact, that was more often than not. Why would I want Steam to tell people I was online and playing a game? Suppose I had just blown them off for an impromptu MSR? Why would I want it known what I was doing?
It's just an extra thing that wants to run in my computer's background, too. I sure don't like that.

I suppose if I were college age and all my frat brothers were playing these games, it'd be a useful feature. Maybe not. But for me, it'd be just a waste of my time trying to figure out all the settings and stuff. But, that's just me, I'm sure. (Mind you, it's been at least 3 years since I looked at it, so it might have changed. )

Well, actually you can only add friends that are on Steam, not just anybody whose email you know. Plus you can set your online status so that you can be invisible to your friends list. I play nothing but solo so no worries there.

Plus, unless the PUBLISHER, not Steam, requires it most games run in offline mode and can be added to your desktop so that run without Steam having to run at all. Some publishers will require you to authenticate through Steam during the initial install.

Further, it's great if you want to give a game to a friend. They have sales all the time (every day) at pretty steep discounts and when I see a game I think a friend (who games) will like I buy it and send it on. The next time they log in they get a gift.

While it does have a social aspect, you can participate as little or as much as you want. If you are running Steam, you can switch a game page that has links to a forum for the game as well as game guides and videos (if any) without leaving your game.

It also handles all patching and alerts you to all DLC (some free, some not) but if you don't want it patching, you can turn that off as well. It has free demos and screenshots and trailers for most game. It has a service that lets you check the game file integrity in case it gets corrupted as well as a backup service that will let you backup any games you downloaded.

Finally here are some other features: it also has a cloud save for many games that is automatic so when you go to a different computer all your saves are there. It has built in voice chat client as well (I don't use it but I'm told it's fine) as well as achievements, badges and trading cards that you can either participate it or not. You can even add non-steam games to it (which I do for GoG Games and other retro stuff, including emulators.) It has a workshop where modders can create additional content for the games there as well as many software packages that you can use to make your own games.

I certainly understand if people don't like it or don't want it. But I have used it for 9 years. I hated it at first, really hated it but I had to have it to play Half Life 2.

Now, I will wait until something comes on Steam before buying it if I can because it's just dead convenient. I have over 1000 games and it still let's me keep my CoH icons and stats in it because I bought a copy of CoH through them. Unlike Sony and X-box game client's it free. It doesn't use points instead of money. It does have a wallet but it's currency for your country, not points.  It's simply the best of all the game clients out there I have used and they do go out of their way to service and listen to the customer base.

By all means if you don't think it's for you, or maybe your a little overly concerned with your privacy you needn't get it. But it has made my gaming experience better and easier than ever. I say that as someone who started gaming in 1980 on an Apple ][, built my own PC and remembers the days before GUI quite well.

I just wanted to correct a few possible impressions that some may have about Steam. If you do ever signup, add me as a friend and maybe I'll send you a game or something one day!

How about a #SaveCoH movie talking about how we brought City of Heroes back instead of original CoH movie. I can't image what the actors and actresses role in playing the Freedom Phalanx I just can't.....that's my opinion. I always wanted a #SaveCoH movie if we pull this off. And IF we do I will be begging to make a movie.  ;)
