My desire to see CoX return set me on a tour of mmo's for something to replace it.

Nothing exists. All others are mere shadows, pretenders.

A resurrection of CoX will see unexpectedly high numbers of former players returning. And new ones as well.
Assuming it remains largely intact.

Maybe Im being biased because it was my frist MMO, but this person here speaks the truth.

Listen to the 'mustn'ts'. Listen to the 'don'ts'. Listen to the 'shouldn'ts', the 'impossibles', the 'won'ts'. Listen to the 'you'll never haves', then listen close to me... Anything can happen . Anything can be.

Something clicked in my mind (probably snapped off, actually) while reading a recent message where someone mentioned Breakfrees.  I'm sure the mixed drink crowd can come up with some inspired conoctions, but since the hardest thing I normally touch is soda, here are my choices for:

Inspirations As Drinks (Soda Category):

Accuracy - Mellow Yellow
Damage - Code Red
Defense - Grape
Endurance - Mt Dew Voltage
Healing - Mt Dew (Original)
Resist Damage - Orange Creme
Resist Effects - Dr Pepper (my favorite!)
Resurrection - Mt Dew Live Wire

You might be surprised.

By the time CoH closed...the player base was extremely stable.   The players who were there were hardcore and dedicated to the game.   Anyone who would be prone to lose interest in it was already gone at that point.

I think it's highly probable that 80% of the former players will return.   Probably lower if character data is gone of course.

As for newer players, Minecraft is hugely popular so I don't think graphics are the make or break thing.    8)

Considering the massive response to MWM's Kickstarter it's safe to say there is an audience ready to go back to Paragon.

My friends and I used to say over Skype that anyone listening in on our gaming conversations must think we were all druggies:

"I can't hit these guys."

I'll never forget the time I was out exploring in Crey's Folly with my signature elec/en blaster, and I came upon a lone tank grinding in Freaktown.

This was before the limitation on the number of mobs one could aggro, and here was this tank pulling a train of over 50 Freakshows in his trail, ending in a shipping container.

There he was slowly reducing their numbers with Hand Clap and Foot Stomp.

Naturally, he welcomed a blaster with some area attacks to help out.

It's too bad bodies fade away, we could have built a whole junkyard of freak parts that day!

Any idea if he intentionality gathered all 50+ Freakshows, or if  he just was a bit unlucky?  He was definitely lucky that you showed up.

Freakshow is definitely the gift that keeps on giving.

I wish I was around for the no aggro cap days, I just remember watching videos of tanks pulling massive amounts of mobs around then jumping in a dumpster.

Epic games has always been to some extent or another rather progressive as a gaming company.  They just needed to move on from the unreal franchise for a bit as it was probably getting old to them.  I'm glad they are making a return to it and making it more of a fan matter, I can't wait to see how things come out.
Currently; Not doing any streaming, found myself with less time available recently.  Still playing starbound periodically, though I am thinking of trying other games.  Don't tell me to play mmohtg's though please :).  Getting back into participating in VO and the successors again to.

This makes me want a "no aggro cap Tuesdays" just for Perez - but that would be such a pain to implement.

Oh, it was deliberate all right!  ;)

That's what made it so funny, him running around all over Freaktown, provoking every mob he could find, then running off, Freaks trailing behind like a metallic comet!

People who didn't get to play in those days never got to see a true mob train like that.

Minion! Bahahaha!

Now all who have mocked me, and failed to respond favorably to my posts, shall pay, and pay dearly, for I have reached the ultimate pinnacle of Titan Greatness!

Bow down, bow down I say, before Lord Minion!

Now excuse me while I clean up the spittle...

Hmmm, If the limit for mob size is encoded in the COH's Lua scripting language and not in the C compiled code, then maybe the buyers could set up a server with larger mob size.

That would be one crazy server.

At least when I played we used Grapes, Blues and Wakies. the only other time any others were mentioned were for the 3 to 1 to make a wakie.

I was one of those tanks. I still miss those days. Made some of my best blaster friends on Dreck farms.

I don't have any news yet. I really think the next thing we will hear will be a yes or no answer. If the project was acceptable and the conditions of sale worked out - then there wasn't much left - well except for the Lawyers.

I remember coming out of the Atlas gate into Perez Park and seeing all the mobs on the map coming at me- it was interesting.

Ya I missed those days.  Chimera too.  I was always the /device blaster when I did Chimera and Dreck runs.  I miss running back into range of the mines and just seeing the screen freeze.  Followed by a full maps worth of Xp or Inf if you were 50.  Dreck it never worked quite as well, freakshow are tough. But Dreck was probably my favorite.
