My personal favorite is:

Developers for City of Heroes or Devs for short :)

So how do we distinguish Devs who DID develop CoH (ie:Paragon Studios) from Devs who hopefully WILL develop CoH?

Not in a mayhem mission, but long ago, in about 2005..

We had a team of 8 doing a cave mission when the first iteration of the 5th Column were still in power.  We ran through the map doing what we needed to do for glowies.  But we noticed the same thing.  No baddies anywhere..  The team was understandably confused.  We were getting close to the end when I popped open one of the doors...

About 40 or so 5th Column warwolves come pouring out.

Needless to say, my main blaster was toasted within a second, but he did not stop bouncing down the corridor for a few moments.  We found it pretty damn funny...

One of my personal favorites was just a regular escort Mish in PI.

Easy mission with a full group going and we got just a few baddies all the way through the map. We collect the guy and some start running SS for the door. Basically we got all spread out when we got hit with a couple or three full spawns of baddies. For some reason they kept spawning at my location.

Well, since we were spread out (it was a Pug) a few fell fast while the others started running back to help. Soon it was just me and one other guy (blaster) who was hiding at the time left standing. The waves just wouldn't stop, but I kept plugging along while the rest of the team went to the hosp and then came back and found the escortee and then proceeded to take him to the front.

I was just having a blast tanking what looked like an AE PL mish. They eventually got the guy out and then started to get back to my position at the end of the map (one of the large maps). I was in that a good 20+ minutes.

It was that mish when I learned how really good my Time/Ice defender could be. I started looking for IOs that would taunt the enemy and anything else I could think of to turn him into a tanker. :)

Too bad they fixed the ice storm damage for I24.

Uh-oh.  According to those patch notes, enhancements also underwent a rather large overhaul.  Since Mids was never updated past I23, this means that the builds we've all likely been working on will not be accurate if the new studio goes live with the snapshot of I24, yes?

I was under the impression the latest version of MIDs had some I24 support.
I used CIT before they even joined the Titan network! But then I left for a long ol' time, and came back. Now I edit the wiki.

I'm working on sorting the Lore AMAs so that questions are easily found and linked: http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Lore_AMA/Sorted Tell me what you think!

It has some of the I24 data information like Bio armor and stuff missing most the IO changes

Also missing the changes to Spines attacks and some other stuff

From what it seems they won't lose anything they already have, but some will get some extra bonuses/improvement instead, and the proc system changes. Still not the best situation, but at least we can just remove and replace certain enhancements if they offer more than what we need for a specific stat. There is also the new IOs that aren't in Mids, so we'll have to calculate those manually.

Yep, it's missing the Power Pool changes as well, and they are quite significant.  :-\ City of Data is updated though, I guess we can just sum the numbers.

Speaking of Mids, who was last maintaining it?  I'm definitely willing to toss $20 via PayPal towards whoever is updating it if we get the game back - Mids was the backbone of my character design and maintenance.

Yeh, Mids has some of it, but not the sweet new i24 unique IOs and a bunch of other changes. Those new uniques are pretty nifty, scaling damage resistance, shield, etc...

Personally I will call them "potential buyers" or some variation until situations change. They aren't CoH devs until they are actual doing development on it.

There were going to be a ton of enhancement bonus changes.  Notably there was going to be a lot more ways to get dmg resists and mez resistances were going to be all types and not just sleep or hold or immob.  And a lot of these changes were going to make otherwise overlooked sets a lot more attractive.  Furthermore, there were going to be several new sets added for various powers (like new target AoE) to give additional options.

So if you're planning a build with the I23 sets, you'll be missing these benefits and increased slotting strategies.  It's not a deal breaker by any means as all old build foci (cap DEF for instance) should still work the old ways.  But if you were always wanting to cap resistances or acquire a bunch of mez protection, then you'll want the I24 numbers.

Other changes iirc were debt protection was changed to regeneration, and it was looking like interrupts were being removed from most powers, so sets that had that enhancement option might be redone / or reduced in utility.  Intangible was getting removed / switched to other effects as well (forget what... not looking at wiki atm).

Overall, I thought these changes were going to be immensely impactful as they'd open a ton of slotting options and throw a few wrenches into the market as now there'd be reasons to slot typically ignored sets. Combined with the new sets (rogue and vig super pack was coming too with new AT sets), there was going to be a lot of market movement.

I24 going to be the shit.

Illusionss

.... As long as sets such as Luck of the Gambler were not going to be nerfed in order to offset the new changes, I would be on board with that.

Don't be touchin' my LotG sets, now. *slaps dev hands away from my precioooussss-es*

I've heard, in the youth vernacular, the term "original gangster" or OG for short. Perhaps, to be hip and maintain street credibility, we should adapt this lingo?

How about, for Cryptic Studios and Paragon Studios developers, we refer to them as "original developers" or ODs? And, for the "new-age developers", NADs?

Did anyone else imagine Nemesis's suit trying to act super hip and like waving his arms around and then folding them in a very hip style at the end of that sentence?
