You sure it's not the meditation they practice in the bath? :)

I've seen Tsoo practice in the park. I've never (thankfully!) seen Tsoo practice in the bath. :)

Had a SG mate that had a toon that, I believe, was a MA/SR scrapper with the background of being a reformed Tsoo.  He started him late in the game, and I don't know how far he got with him before the lights were turned off.

The toon's name?  So Tsoo Me.

Always wanted to create a reformed Tsoo/Country Singer mashup:  A Boy Named Tsoo.  (I'll be here all week. Try the meatloaf.)

So many ideas flowing through my mind since the possibility of playing again arose.  Having Icons and Mids handy while not actually being able to play the game, is sort of bittersweet.  I want to play so bad, but can't so I play with the tools...which just makes me want to play even more!  Haha

I -know- right?! I keep making builds, then thinking "but would that look good enough?" so I go to Icon and then back... I'm like a gummy bear.

We already have a completely new RP group concept and backstory and everything done XD We are so past the mark of cautious hope it's not even funny ^^ And obviously we've gone into Icon to work out SG colours and logotype and everything. And I have a detailed base plan in my head.

Playing lotro at the moment, deeds are now badges, quests are missions. We -team- and we use stamina and not power. Crazy how quickly you get back into the City of Heroes mindset!

You know, I am not sure!

I know they are mostly working in a virtual manner with programmers spread over the world/USA and so I don't know if any are near me.

Could we gather up money and then buy Starbucks/Tim Horton's gift cards? I think you can send those electronically... use virtuality to handle virtuality!

I missed a part - the code is likely not going to be "worked" developed past Issue 24.

Some of the tools to do so were custom made and not in NCSoft's posession. What would be possible is to run the game at Issue 24 and continue development on CoH 2 using the UnReal4 engine. I think you are seeing some of the posts and reading into them what you want to see. Due to NCSoft linking game accounts across all of their stable of games - account information is highly unlikely to be recovered, it also is information that is 2 years old and many emails and credit information have changed.

The character information is possible but the main point now is NCSoft asked the team to prove they are technically able to run the game. Once that is finished then further bargaining will happen. You can take a seat and heckle if you like but it won't stop me. I know where it all rests right now and either way you will hear what is happening.

Ok since NCsoft asked the team to prove they can run the game; once we have the game do we have to raise money in order for the new devs to reverse engineer City of Heroes just like what we did on the City of Titans kickstarter campaign?

There's nothing wrong with a good donut campaign. When the donuts reaches level ten they can have a variety of different sprinkles unlocked. Obviously they don't need a specific travel power, because d'oh rolling. But we have to have something signifying the importance of a donuts life.. say.... filling....

Tub Chi: yes there is a new business in town that we can extort protection money from.  Go out and show this Surge.
Minion: Serge, sir
Tub Chi: whatever. Go out and show this Serge guy what it takes to run a business in our city.
20 mins later
Beat up minion: it was horrible Sir.  The violence.. the horror.
Tub Chi: Serge did this to you?!?
BUM: we went there like you said to explain things to him.  He said he needed a bit to think, so we stepped outside...and that's when the heroes showed up.  They're hunting everyone down.... I saw Bob go to the hospital and when he walked out he was jumped again by a hero yelling what sounded like "Daddy needs a new pair of tights"
Tub Chi: wait... what does this guy sell again?

HAHAHAHAHAHA!! That's exactly how that would have went.
In the end, we all are heroes, even the Villains; fighting to save a city that we all love.

So when a Donut turns lvl 38, will it get the hamburger APP option?

So, if they get the disk image running as is at Issue 24, what about the unfinished content like the Wind Control power set? It's nothing but a set of placeholders. They could probably figure out their own animations and graphics for it but would likely need to get a hold of former Paragon employees that were responsible for programming and integrating the power sets. But I guess they'd be figuring all this out during the reverse engineering process.

And, on the idea that they may attempt a CoH2 on the Unreal engine, I would hope they'd use everything they're getting in that disk image as reference for what to launch the sequel with... and what not to mess with in the fundamental game mechanics. Change it too much and it ceases to be City of Heroes. Really don't want to play a sequel that handles like CO or DCUO. CoH's gameplay is the whole reason I largely ignored the others. They just don't compare in this sense regardless of all the newer, nicer things they have in place.

You know, it strikes me as the best way to prove they can run the game is to... you know... RUN THE GAME.  So when they start the super-secret "Gamma Testing" (IT comes after Beta testing, since the game was already.... OK, moving on), I'll gladly offer up my services to test the SNOT out of the game for them, so they can Dev and Run the game all they want for me.

Ahem.

Hello folks!

Is everyone else having fantastic summer weather? I sure am :)

Here is a pic of my boy in the Swedish sun...uhm shadow.

By the way back on topic :), must be some extreme standards NCsoft have, keeping five teams busy with showing if they can run the game.

All the best,
AG

Just one team.

It is just part of the normal purchase conditions.

kiario

Ah, yes I know one team but aren't the other four studios forwarded to the leading team, supporting them? Sorry, I was a bit unclear.

I would presume that the other teams are waiting in the on-deck circle (to use a baseball expression) until the first team has had its turn at bat.

Does that mean there's an informal agreement among the teams that if one fails it will pass along information that might be useful to another attempt?
