I wouldn't even be angry if he was pranking us (for that long at least) cause the amount of time he put into the prank would have been a bigger waste of his time then ours.  Also I am not sure how you would even get "BS" from this.  It shows he hasn't been on the forums too long(which is fine I am not saying it like thats a bad thing, the more the merrier) but Ironwolf has never really given anyone here a reason to not believe him.  And there have been B.S threads here before and the ones that aren't painfully obvious they are B.S(There have been some good ones) are usually dealt with by the mods pretty quickly.

I think Ironwolf had a gag order put on him while the negotiations finalise. As it is, I bet he's in trouble for breaking an NDA for telling us all he did. The industry is CRAZY lawyer-heavy like that.

Sorry folks we are just in a quiet time while things happen. I haven't been posting this weekend because I have been really busy!

Nope it's not a prank. I don't have a gag order it is just in one of those stages. I have had people contact me and other people have verified who and what the team is - including Tony V and a few others. I would never be that cruel. In this case no news is good news it means things are still moving forward. Once the team satisfies NCSoft they are technically competent then it moves further. It is a step by step process.

August was the goal but that doesn't mean August 1st!

Heatstroke has a contact in NCSoft who confirmed that a deal was underway - they don't know the specifics of the deal however. If you doubt if its real you can contact Tony V for confirmation. I often get these kinds of doubters and I think in fact they are just trying to get me to prove it by naming the team - not going to happen.

It is just a quiet point right now.

I think I'm good with it either way, lol. It's been a lot of fun perusing and reading the forums lately. I've seen names I thought I'd never see again. For that much alone, I'm grateful.

The thing is, although I probably only teamed with @Ironwolf once or twice on an iTrial here and there on Infinity, I do know his reputation. He was, (and will be again, I trust) a more than capable player and good leader. And he's not going to foul it up playing a big ol' practical (impractical?) joke on us. He's a fan of the game - probably more so than some of us - and he just wanted to let us know what was happening, as much as he could, anyway.

I also can follow the logic behind those that would suggest this is all nonsense. But, because there are always things we don't know, wouldn't and couldn't know, I'm more inclined to trust than to mis-trust.

And you know what else? In the long run, it doesn't really matter to me. I'll be okay. I'm still choked up about these kids who are autistic, or some derivative of that complex condition, who seemed to only connect with others when playing the game. Those families that spent time with their children explaining why it's a good thing to stop Hellions from stealing ladies' handbags. Those are the players that I really hope get to play the game again. I just wish I had the resources to have made things happen much sooner.

Seeing the Tsoo Tsoo Train running towards a hero in Steel Canyon was always a highlight. I followed it just to watch the crash happen.

I'll I can say is that in Ironwolf -has- pranked us (and I don't believe for a second that he did!), then there will be two mobs after him! The first to give him a Prank King 2014 award, the second to string him up by his curly bits! :p

Anyone else remember when they first put out Icon and extra costume slots? For that weekend it became so hard to find Tsoo in the level 20 range as everyone was trying to get that first slot in all of their characters.  You had people in Steel Canyon broadcasting for Tsoo hinting teams.  once out got your 20 you'd leave and someone else would join. Ina long rotating team.  You'd have to imagine what this would be Ike for the Tsoo

I saw Bob go to the hospital and when he walked out he was jumped again by a hero yelling what sounded like "Daddy needs a new pair of tights"

Reading through this thread, I have to call BS.

I hope I'm wrong, and if I am I will be the first to apologize (and then buy a subscription).

I really shouldn't post in the middle of the night....but I'll stand by what I said.

and I'll expand a bit, because when you're in a hole the BEST thing you can do is did deeper. 

So even if the deal is finalized TODAY...

There's no hosting in place (easiest thing to solve)
No business plan in place (I'll assume its being worked on).

I've seen mention of having a beta, I'm sure with developers that aren't familiar with the code it'll be fun.  I seem to recall Castle mentioning (or Posi?) what a mess it (the code) was to work on.   Service will need to be operationalized, with a 24/7 support staff (even if only on call).  At first I'm sure only having the game up for 12 hours a day is better than 0 hours a day, but to grow your customer base they'll expect 24/7 except for scheduled outages.

I've seen Ironwolf back pedaling already, almost like he's conditioning people for failure (the new devs will go from heroes to goats, we're not sure if we'll use I23, I24 or CoH 2...).  The he says I23 WHILE they work on CoH2.  How many of the die hard fans have already left?  How many are willing to come back?  The engine was looking LONG in the tooth 2 years ago, time won't be kind to it. 

Between Marvel and DC flooding the movie market with comic book movies the comic book entertainment verse is looking to get flooded.  About the only saving grace I can think of is that the Marvel/DC game offerings have been relatively weak. 

Dismiss me as a troll and a baiter if you want...but I played the game shortly after release and I was in Atlas Park as the anti-matter wave ripped through.  I paid for an account when I didn't play, when it went Free to Play, I kept my paid account active.
