Yeah, no. I'd be a troll if I didn't actually believe anything I was saying and I was only doing this to get a rise out of people. I assure you, the feelings I've expressed here today are totally sincere.

"Troll" does not mean "people who say things you don't like." And now you've made another mistake, just like I said you would.

Nope. You're clearly trolling.

I haven't been paying attention the world cup... More of a Rugby person.

But I'm going to guess the England Team proved to be overpaid and useless again! :P

Oi Oi Oi!!!!

Oh yeah, and check it out. I make a buncha posts on a single Sunday afternoon on a single board and now I'm some pariah because I might have killed the game.

Well, if it was that easy to kill a big business deal, then it really must have been on some very shaky ground already. Y'think?
One way to look at it is:

Let's say you are 100% correct and the deal is on shaky ground.

What would be the best way for the former players to proceed given that fact?   Stir the pot or kinda chill out?

I was in a cable car once going 1000 feet over a gorge and a guy in the back organized all his friends to jump up and down at once to scare their girl friends.  The car was well enough constructed that we didn't fall to our deaths.

If I could have, I would have pushed that guy out.

I'm saying most of the players won't do that, even if they knew it might work in their favor. They're too worked up.

Notice how I haven't said that I'm doing any such thing. That's what other people here have said, all while saying I'm doing the same to them. Funny how that works, huh?

my thoughts exactly...

another thing that hasnt been even remotely considered..

what is Nc Soft DOESNT sell everything lock stock and barrel? What if there is a partnership arrangement.. What if Nc Soft get a share of revenue for a specific amount of time? All these things could be potential factors in negotiations..

which is why I believe the best course of action is to stop sharing info with the community because you cannot control " the community "..

The next info that should be shared IMO is.. We have the game.. Or we dont..

Eh, cat's out of the bag pretty much. If they stop giving information now, people are going to go even more nuts than they already are, which could make things really bad for the buyout deal. They just need to stick to only releasing little vague bits of information: enough to keep the crowd fed, but not so much that it upsets NC or causes any issues in the deal.

That is a terrible analogy. Unless you're saying that NCSoft is going to hire hitmen to kill all the more vociferous fans out there if they don't pipe down already. Which... no, that would still be on them!

(FTR, I hate guys like that, the one you just described)

Burnt Toast

I don't believe he is trolling..and calling someone a troll is neither productive or needed.

I believe; like 99.99% of Americans he is simply unaware of Korean business culture. I run into this issue a lot (People not knowing Korean culture)... it caused a lot of drama on the main message boards...and was one of the reasons I do not comment much on these boards. Right now is a pivotal time though and people need to understand that the actions happening on facebook WOULD be detrimental to any negotiations with MOST Korean companies. When you are dealing with a foreign corporation it is your job to bend to their customs... which are VERY different from American customs.

Well that's what most would call "stupid".

You might even say those people don't really deserve to get the game back at all.

Of course ALL of them cannot be persuaded to act their age... NEVER in the history of CoX has EVERYONE agreed on anything. Give out a shiny new costume set for free..someone will complain it didn't have something. Offer up 500 free store points...someone will think it should have been 1000. Change a power's stats...someone will be upset and think it should have stayed the same.

I remember an argument on the original forums once about a Crey pistol temp power that you got for completing a particular story-arc. Someone came to the forums and started a thread about "that Crey-XB900 [or whatever it was called] temp power is completely useless!" And it was. It honestly did nothing.

That did not keep the OP from being dogpiled by a bunch of people going, "It was free. What right do you have to complain about something free? They didn't have to give you anything at all. Shut up and be happy."

OP: "WHAT IS THE POINT OF A REWARD THAT IS COMPLETELY USELESS? If they go to the trouble of making us something, and it does not do anything it seems like a huge waste of time to me! Why would they waste their time on that!"

....and on it went for about ten pages of flame vs. counterflame.... I miss those forums, I tell you.  8)

And on FB, I've lost all respect for a BNF.  This is starting to get disheartening.

Joninator

As an individual, I can do next to nothing to help this deal go through. I have no expertise in negotiating, nor a wad of cash to throw.

All I *can* do is pray that the people involved can reach an agreement.

AND also to abide by their wishes and keep the noise down. It's actually easier than praying.

I hope both sides can come to terms quickly and that we the fans get our game back soon after.

HEATSTROKE

One thing I have learned..

If you want the fire to burn you need three things..

You need fuel.. and you need a source... and heat....

So you either stop being a source for the fire..
       You can stop fueling it..
Or you can stop bringing the heat....

You might even say those people don't really deserve to get the game back at all.

If you're going to go that way, then none of us deserve it. And if so, then why are we even here discussing it? The mods should delete this entire thread and then forbid us from speaking about it on this forum ever again.

I don't believe the majority of those players are doing this out of any sense of malice. Apparently, I'm in the minority opinion around here.

Talner

Both sides are still talking. They haven't said "No." They could have a long time ago. But they didn't. Which shows they are willing to talk.
Everyone should be respectful, let the negotiations continue, and trust the outcome will be beneficial for both sides.
