THANK YOU!  Seriously, it's not as if the fans out here aren't getting fed up with the pointless speculation too.  Jeez, I don't even want to think how much stress people freaking out over their ill-perceived what-ifs are causing.  Ulcers much?

Now, top that off with a bunch of money you're investing and see where your ulcer goes!
I am an ass, but don't we all love a good ass!

To the Devs/purchasers,

We really appreciate your efforts. Rescuing the game from oblivion is a valiant and noble task. Keep at it, and don't sweat the internet chatter. We're just super excited.

And when someone makes that a T-shirt lemme know, I'll order the Villains version.

I would just like to say - please keep the thoughts positive about the purchase of the game. It is sort of freaking out the Devs seeing themselves being picked apart based on speculation.

If you can't keep things positive it will drastically reduce what information I will be getting. Facebook..........yes I am looking at you! Complete speculation on where the game is going when they don't have the game yet - is not wise.

I have tried to treat everyone like adults and give you what I can. There is a lot of pressure on these folks and they are feeling it. To ponder on what ifs and then act as if those what ifs are the truth - is silly.

Let me try and clear all the speculation up:
1. A team is trying to get the game.
2. They are getting closer.
3. They want to get the old game running if it is at all possible with Issue 24.
4. They want to move forward with CoH2 as well.

That is in a nutshell what we have. It is wonderful to think about the future - but we don't have a future - yet. Please pass this on - especially you Facebook folks!

I don't participate on Facebook discussions, but my advice there (for the Devs) would be to ignore Facebook... There is some screwed up stuff that goes on there, and they've already proven to take a rumor started by someone other than the "official source" and run with it.

With the exception of a few hiccups, I thought that this thread for the most part has stayed pretty positive. We're all excited about the game, and speculation as to what that will be like (if/when we get the game) is only natural. You can't control what goes on around the Facebook arena, so you may as well ignore it. The people on there will be stupid no matter what.

I'd normally agree, save the Facebook area is noticed by the other side of the table.

I can only imagine! I would be hyperventilating every time I looked at this board if I were one of the devs.

For what it's worth, I have great faith in the future of the franchise. Maybe I'm just a crazy optimist, but I really believe we're going to get our game back and it's going to be great.

That's right. Give them a chance to get the game before you start asking for everything. This game is going to be what it was before the shut down, maybe I24, nothing more until the dust settles!

Even if all the purchasers can get are property rights, it will go a long ways towards the making of CoH2, and potentially help alternative games with actual content. I'd like to see all the games tied together. Destroy one world and 3 more pop up, like a hydra.

Also, the facebook vitriol might encourage NCsoft to sell instead of holding onto the game for a possible relaunch by themselves.

I'm sure the /stuck command would have be used if it was designed to this persons intent!
If it were possible to use that command on someone else, believe me, I would have.  I didn't want to open the dialogue tree that starts, "Boy, I wish I could un-stick you" in that situation, though...

I've been trying to keep commentary to get the game and reminiscing over good times (and maybe not so good times) in CoH or based on some of the posts in the last 24 hours City of Date Sim Online.

I'm glad to read this. I am 100% behind this, as represented. This is exactly what I want the plan to be.

Facebook is so last year.  :P When mom and dad use it, you know its time to bail. (Disclosure, I have an account, but I don't use it)

I have full faith that anyone who is willing to navigate this particular corporate minefield has only the highest degree of affection for the game, and will do everything in their power to bring it back to life in a way that is consistent with the passion we all share for it.

If they're reading this, they need to know that.  I'm posting silly stuff because I dearly love the community surrounding this game, and for the past year and a half really haven't felt that connected to it.  They've brought me back to something that I had forced myself to let go of.  There are no words for how much I appreciate everything they've done, and everything I believe they are capable of doing.

Trying to get a mob of people to settle down and behave themselves? That's not even mere cat herding anymore. More like lion herding. Lions that are all very, very hungry.

Good luck!

Hungry lions are very easy to herd, you just have to herd the gazelle.

There's just a lot of people that are lashing out because they don't want to get hurt again. In its own twisted way it's a good sign.

I would add to that: Facebook is the new YouTube in terms of negativity/horrible comments...

To be honest, I liked the older power sets better.  I don't like having to do powers in a particular sequence to get max benefit or having to build up power to enable a power.     I have no problem with them trying new mechanics with new power sets, but hopefully they'll also add a few new sets that are done the 'old' way.  I tried Dual Blades, Staff Fighting,  and Water Blast - all of them just left me feeling "meh".

I generally concur. When powersets get tricky sometimes it's like the mechanics are the "star" and not the player - like the combo system in dual blades. I'd much rather get new power sets without the "tricksiness".

I have stopped chatting on fb, because it does get boring, a few people just want to complain against nc soft.
To the new devs, please note I have nothing bad to say here or anywhere, and I applaud your attempt and wish you well in it. :) I would also like to assure you that there are more people who are positive about this.

Except, I think in this case, the herder IS the gazelle.

I sympathize with them, as I feel the same way. The new developers should learn to expect this sort of thing from the angry mobs that are the players. For even the smallest of nerfs may cause them to bring out the torches and pitchforks. Bringing this game back to life? That is where even the angels fear to tread.
