New efforts!

I started out in Freedom, since that's where the pre-order beta folks could reserve one of their character names.  Pretty much staid there since it was the most populous server and the easiest to find a group.

I leveled two characters to 50 on Virtue, and I could count on one hand the number of groups I was able to find
for leveling.  Just not a friendly server.

Capt. Incompetent used to comment on the different floors he laid on.  "This tastes like Johnsons wax."  "I do believe this is scotchgard carpet."

Augh...I keep looking for a "like" button for these posts!   :D

The humor in the game was a big part of it for me too.   I remember cracking up at this one toon in Atlas who was the smallest version of the "huge" body you could get....all pink....standing there doing that wacky dance emote.   He was called "The Gum Wad".   His bio described how he had been left under a desk.   Not sure why that hit my funny bone so hard but I couldn't stop laughing.

I'm torn. 16 servers means more room for growth, and no issues coordinating names if the data is available. On the other hand, what if there really are only 300 of us initially returning. We'd have 20 people average on each server. That would really suck.

I'm thinking the best approach is to put up 1 to 3 servers initially, restore accounts (if possible) upon request, and add servers when the demand is too high. Conflicting names can be generic'd or suffixed, and rename tokens provided. I wouldn't mind having my SG base back, too, or at least a way to convert real money to prestige.

You are way underestimating demand. I personally know 8 people who absolutely will play who don't post here. I'll bet you know a few yourself. That doesn't count me or my two accounts. In addition, this will be a big deal if it happens. The gawkers will come to see what all the fuss was about. 80-90% of them probably leave but the rest we can  convert just by being the awesome community we were.

But it was relevant to the community on Guardian.

Perhaps it was.

All the more reason for me to have left; I have very low tolerance for such behavior in Broadcast, or on the Help channel for instance; if people want to spout incessant inanities such as the sprinklings of "pixie dust" every ten seconds, a private channel with friends might be the best venue for that.

Otherwise when the Hello Kitty crowd shows up in the RWZ and wants on my raid league, I might 1. ignore the request from known spamminators [and yes, I did that a lot] or 2. perhaps I don't even see the request... because that person is on Ignore! I am all Draconian like that. People have the right to shout whatever they want in Broadcast or other public channels, but they don't have the right to make me listen to it.

This problem was almost completely absent on Virtue, which is only one of many reasons why Virtue ruled. When you have a lot of these types on a relatively small-population server, it becomes a real nuisance to people who don't like ~**!**PIXIE DUST!**!**~ every ten seconds. Do what you want.... just not on my lawn, sonny. *shakes cane at miscreants*

Once saw a fellow running a costume contest under Atlas statue.  Huge shape, pink and purple tights, delicate fairy wings.  The term Fairy Wings on a Cement Truck came to mind.

We should also keep in mind that a lot of the dedicated members will be bringing in their friends. I have at least three friends who never played CoX, and I will make them play. Even if I weren't going to force them to play, I'm sure I've been ranting and raving about this game long enough for them to be curious to try it at relaunch.

I once saw nine characters - all as round as they could be made, and dressed as billiard balls with numbers on their chests - arranged in a "racked" triangle for a screen capture. Just when you think the players' creativity might have reached a limit.

Freedom: "Yeah really, well UR MOM!" and this was the Freedom version of witty banter. Ugh.

LOL...True!!!  Happened daily.  I got more than a few of those via tells from sour PvP'rs on Freedom.  Stalker hate  >:(  Fun times...Fun times  ;D

Yes, I feel the same way. A little, OK I'll deal. A lot, different tab, different channels. Problem solved!

Which is exactly why I hope the servers all come back with their names intact. Those of us that loved Guardian loved it for it's quirkiness. You loved Virtue for your own reasons just as others loved Freedom or any of the others.

I, personally, will be trumpeting it in CO on the CoX chat channel, which also reaches STO and NW, and in CO's Zone chat (like CoX's Broadcast).

Was primarily on Virtue the entire time.

I played on a few other servers but always went back there.  Was part of a couple of SGs but because I was a GL in an active EQ/EQ2/WoW guild my time spent playing CoX was sporadic.

Oh, and I want the new client ported to my old TRS-80......I wonder how many cassette tapes it would take.....

I met one RP person on Virtue and he/she was an incredibly nice person.   Really took the time to walk me through what it was all about and invited me to join the RP SG.   I was a bit intimidated by it (I'm also very silly) so I never took him/her up on it.

Yeah, I was intimidated by it at first too. I tried a little bit here and there though... it's especially fun if you're with a group that'll take it easy on you till you get the hang of it. By the time I'd decided I'd like to try more though, RL changed its mind about how much playing time it was gonna let me have.  *shrugs*  Whaddaya do, right?

CC takes great care of us  ;)

A little surprised that the usual suspects of our SG haven't popped in to see whats going on.  I dunno, it *is* July, mebbe everyone is on vacation?

CC and the rest of us Fusion Force regulars were mostly on the Triumph server, a quiet little server but adorable in its smallness.

Heya Um!  And I do what I can... but not as much as y'all deserve.
