Thanks Ironwolf for the update! Best news I've had in nearly two years.

Once step one (get the game) is completed, the new owners will be the ones who can tell us what is what.

But I just want to say thank you again to you and all the others who have tried to get us home. We are closer than we have been, the City is near. But never forgot the road that brought us here. To all those who have struggled to get us there, this Gamer thanks you, win or lose.

There's no way to know any of that stuff yet.  This is simply a deal taking place to purchase the game from NCSoft.  Everything else would be hammered out after that purchase is made.

I know it's tempting to deluge this thread with questions we all want answered, but right now there are no answers to had. All of that will come out and be addressed if/when the new owners announce.

Let's just enjoy the moment of potential bliss. These are incredibly rare in a lifetime. Don't hurry past  it.

Hold on a bit - looks like for once I read a bit too much into the email!

It is in the hands of the final guy but they are still working to get the best deal with the most stuff in it - for the best price. I thought it was at the peak - my fault entirely - but it is at the final stage and now the serious deal making is on and we are 1 signature away again.

I'm gonna quote this on facebook in about 30 minutes unless something is said otherwise!  Wow, just, wow.

At this stage - it appears rerolling is the best choice. You have to understand NCSoft has NEVER sold one of their games like this.

If these folks pull this off it is a first. NCSoft is not very organized in this procedure because it has never happened before.

This is actually not true. NCSoft's former title Point Blank was sold to Garena in 2011.

I shoot/edit/animate video for the Mayor of the City of Orlando, and doing a gaming video would be FAR less boring... ;)

Oh I plan to do my part.  I have a plan for a series of videos.  If we don't get our account data, thats fine, as I'd be able to make my guide a bit easier.  The series is going to be promoting the game and on top of that, how it was ahead of it's time.  CoX was an mmorpg of depth that wasn't hard to get into.  It had depth that I liked, to, variety of playstyles being supported such that you didn't need one team setup for everything.  You had dozens of hundreds of ways to setup a team effectively.  Casuals and hardcores could both enjoy the game very well because of that, and it wasn't because the game was easy but because the game gave you the solutions for the hard stuff proper.

The group is working on possibly signing a deal in the next few days. All of the good Karma you can muster point towards South Korea and let NCSoft be persuaded!

I don't know the exact details of what is in this deal but it is VERY close. It appears at this stage User Data may not be available - at least not at this time. More details as things unfold.

Not yet, I read the email wrongly and projected my own thoughts. The game is in the final stages of the deal. It is only 1 signature away - however they are still working to secure more stuff. It will be a bit longer.

I'd love to do it, but if they're going with someone like Leandro or Angelus Animi (who've both done some absolutely UNREAL videos thanks to coding/scripts), I'd be the first to agree with their choice.

That one final signature guy/gal might want to take a while to review the proposals and agreements before putting pen to paper.

Np.  It's still imminent.  In the 'final' stretch and the fabled 'one signature' away.  This is the stuff of dreams for the CoH community.

This deal could complete very, very soon!

As for the 'old data.'  (I guess it depends on what 'additionally,' they are trying to secure?  Account data?)

Seriously, it would be a nice bonus. 

But really...sometimes it's nice in life to start over again...to have that thrill of 'not knowing.'

I've been re-rolling my alts in CoH Icon and already have about 14 alts ready to go! :)

Unencumbered by the 'billions in influence' and the certainty of alts played to death.  Oh for the joy of having the chance to play CoH at all...to start again...like it was...all those years ago...

It's more then just some videos with music but a guide on how to get the most out of city of heroes, and what separates it from other mmorpgs.  Think of it as a review video from someone who knows the game inside and out as a die hard corruptor player that also played defenders and controllers.
