Any Khelds out there?

Microcosm

The New Efforts thread got my hopes up, as well as my nostalgia. Are there any other Khelds out there still lurking? Miss you guys  :(

Stratoburst

While I don't post a lot, I'm not quite a lurker....so....

I want my Peacebringer back!   :'(

OH I am soooo ready to play my PB again!

Heavensrun

I don't have my hopes up, as I'm incredibly cynical when it comes to videogame companies, but I did play my PB to 50, and I miss playing her.  Pure human form, IO-tricked build, PPD awakened, using the PPD veteran chest emblem.  Good times.

We must be careful when we return. Who knows how far along the Void Hunter-Praetorian conspiracy has advanced...

You know it's been too long when you're not sure if you're spelling your own character's name correctly.

Nice pics, Scotty. Unfortunately my comp that I use to play on gave up the ghost, so I no longer have my old pics or builds.

Did you pull the hard drive? Or have the machine collecting dust somewhere? There may still be hope!

My [Peacebringer] was a bit more generic than Dei. I don't even remember her name. In fact, I based the costume on that "Clanket" billboard. (It's a Cape! It's a Blanket!)

Microcosm

I like the headgear there.

I accidentally wiped the hard drive while trying to fix it. Absolute gut-wrenching moment. I was able to recover a couple docs after that, but nothing of value. I've been remaking some of those builds in i24 Mids, which has been fun in itself.

Angel Phoenix77

I had a kheld, but only got it to level 28. This is due to 2 factors, 1 I couldn't get used to the complexity of the at and 2 I discovered scrappers :D
One day the Phoenix will rise again.

Fleur_uk

wow ScottyB love your screenie of Deimoysia!! She is amazing looking <3

Tacitala

Trying out both Kheldians is on the list of new characters for when SCoRE gives us the game back (sorry, so faith in NCSoft's ability to see reason  :( ). I already have back story and costumes for both of them.

If our characters were somehow still available.. I would be running my All Human PB like crazy....

and I would have to make an All Human Warshade as well..

Peacemaker

I miss my peacebringer like crazy.  Hybrid Z was a tribute character I made in memory of my father when he passed away.  I loved playing the character,  it's a shame he never got his sash though.

I struggled thru to level 50 on an energy/energy blaster (who, OF COURSE I love dearly and play like a psychotic-rage blapper) so I could roll a warshade. Funny how most responses went PB, which I still have not tried. Also funny that I felt strongly enough about good v evil in  a general way in RL that I never rolled a single villain, but was willing to go dark on the khelds.

I had constant issues playing my WS with teams. I mostly PUGged, just because my commitment level was low. I'm sure it was me, but I could usually not pick up a working team synchronicity with the WS. I oftn would offer to switch to my damage-heavy blaster or a defender or controller. There were situations where we had a tank and some other mixes, and I said "okay, no major team deficits here, i'll just bring the jack-of-all-trade WS and adjust accordingly." Sometimes it worked, and other times it was an entertaining disaster. But I always knew it was a crap-shoot going in, so I never had any regrets.

That being said, I thought the WS was the most fun to play solo, because of all the forethought required in approaching a mob of baddies. Having "blapped" with energy/energy previously (kill fast while mitigating with knockback), this pattern came naturally. For me the WS was a blapper with a few more options (PETS! TANKABILITY!)

After 32 on the WS, I was pretty much "tanking for fluffies", dancing from base form to spawn another fluffy and lobster form to tank aggro away from them, with some creative deviations once in a while just to see what would kill me before I could come up with a killer sequence of complicated dance moves. Coming from a blaster who died way more often, it was all fun!

Yes, playing a warshade was incredibly satisfying! This warshade guide turned me on to them with the line
QuoteYou are all forms at all times. Thinking anything else will cripple you without you even realizing it. You are never stuck in one form. Nova thrives on human and dwarf buffs. Dwarf protects human and nova. Human fuels dwarf and nova. Embrace this idea.
It's not a build or even a play style, it's a state of mind.

TriNitroToluene

WS driver here, man did I love those purple fluffies.  After leveling as a tri-form, I changed over to a bi-form human/nova.  I would run in, buff up and then switch to one very tough flying squid and blast away until I could drop form and leech from dead bodies and extract my fluffies.  I could get 3 out at most times and had a nearly permanent eclipse.

I really enjoyed it before the fitness pool became inherent, it felt so freeing to have no endurance issues without that pool or the need to pick powers in order to get a travel power also.

She became my second favorite after my main/first toon.

primeknight

Tri-form Peacebringer here (my third 50).   (first: claws/sr scrapper, second: mind/lkin controller).  I started my peacebringer back when they got unlocked after getting a character to 50.

Peacebringer was my AT of choice (instead of warshade) because it was so different from my first two 50's; it was time to try something different.

Anyway she was a blast.  The air gunship that she was and all of her jack-of-all-trades abilities made me come back for more.  I would have liked to  master the playstyle: conceptually it was a fun idea but she always felt considerably weaker compared to the other characters I put significant time into.  If I ever get the chance I'd like to figure out how to make her more viable.

Shenku

I use to have a Peacebringer, but then she took a Shivan blast to the knee...

Human form for solo, second build was tri-form for teams...

AlphaFerret

My 50 warshade was a tri-form mess.  I wanted to fix him by shutdown, but ran out of time.  He grew up with a stone tank as a primary teammate, so he never really had to do much other than blast away.  Early on, I made a bunch of key binds on my full size gaming keyboard in order to manage the forms...went over to a friends and used his laptop...no maco keys...now that was an adventure;)  My 50 PB was a human form toon who pretty much stayed retired once the level cap was reached.  I do miss that WS...he was kinda like that money pit of a house that never gets fixed.
